Hi Folks,

I may have posted this somewhere before... I can't quite seem to find where I might have asked this.

Tower question: what if there is a RED meeple 2 away from a tower, and a YELLOW meeple 2 away from the same tower. Let's say I'm GREEN, and on my turn I play a tower piece to make the tower height TWO high. Question: I know that I can only take either the yellow or the red meeple. So let's say I take red. But on my next turn, I want to take yellow as well... do I have to increase the height of THAT tower to three (even though it's within two) or can I increase the height of another tower somewhere else but take the yellow anyways?

You have to perform step 2 - placing a tower token, to steal a meeple.

But his question is whether he can perform step 2 on any tower and take a meeple from within the correct distance from another tower. I don't believe this is possible but could some Oracle give the definitive answer

From the Z-Man rulebook:

The level where you placed your tower floor determines the tiles from which you may capture a meeple. You may always choose the tile on which you placed your tower floor. From there, for each floor in the tower, you can reach one tile in each of the 4 directions. For example, if the tower floor you placed is the first level, you have access to 5 tiles (see example below).

To me this is the key phrases: "The level where you placed your tower floor determines the tiles from which you may capture a meeple. You may always choose the tile on which you placed your tower floor."

I interpret this that you should be looking from the tile on which you placed the tower piece and not from any other tile that might also have one or more tower pieces on it.

Whichever tower you place your tower block on is where you can capture from, even if the meeple you wish to kindap was already within range before you grew that tower.

I do 100% agree but is it explicitly stated that that is the case? If not, it opens up an interesting tactical option.
