Asmodee's take on the Carcassonne app, subtitled Tiles & Tactices has arrived in the playstore and steam today. The app is a modest $1.99usd, with the River expansion having a special launch price of $0.99usd. Abbot expansion is free with signing into an Asmodee account.

Is really in US you have the price $1.99??? To me Steam showed the price 9,99€! Plus the River 0,99€. Will wait for sale, besides players are not so happy with this implementation.

I like the UI and the way it plays.
I have only tried single player at this point.

The little touches like colored flags going up to represent who's city it was.
The v2.0 graphics however are a quite cluttered in 2D mode on a small device. Might be better on a tablet.

It's worth the $2 at least =)

What are the main criticisms? I've seen a few posts about this on Facebook, but haven't bought it yet.

Somebody mentioned that there is a "Karma" setting and suggested that this could be use to influence the "random" drawing of the tiles in favour of one player or another. Can anyone confirm how this works?

the interface could be more user friendly.

farmers should had been enabled by default or, at least, easier to turn on (instead of hidden in a menu that only appears for single player mode).

You couldn't even adjust the resolution correctly. More than 1/3 of the screen was unreadable.

No multi-player farming is a blunder.  "Where would Carcassonne be without farmers...."

My bad, the Android price is $1.99, the Steam version is $9.99. Which is still probably the intro price and will probably raise to about $14 later.


I never really was that big of a fan of the original app, don't know why. I like that you can see whos farm, but I don't like the way they chose to highlight it, very distracting. I also don't like the change in some of the art, like the cities.

So how long should the $1.99 / $.99 river / $9.99 Android / Steam prices last? It's probably getting close, I likely won't buy it once it stops (I never bought the original app because of the price), not sure its worth it though.
