I wonder if the Tikal wonder will involve sacrificing your own meeples?

Nice find.  Why doesn't HiG ever reprint these in C2/C3?

I just want to chime in that I also just got the Wonders of Humanity mini expansion and Spell Circles mini expansion recently, and I'm not happy that they aren't including rule sheets any more.  What gives?  I saw that I can access the rules online using the QR code, but I also liked having a physical copy on hand.

Yeah, I agree that Cundco's shipping prices have gone out of control.  I bought The Bets and the Ukraine tile last week, and shipping it was €12!  Not only is that more than the price of the tiles I bought, but that's over double what the shipping price used to be, and it sounds like they are still using the same national postal service to deliver it.  I was going to buy Mists Over Carcassonne off Cundco when they got English copies back in stock, but now I think not.

Wow, that's disappointing to hear.  I don't have any of their Carcassonne boxes, but I did buy their jumbo Catan box and it's really great.

Yeah, I know the feeling - I'm still waiting for one of my kickstarters to come in too.  After a lot of contemplation, I ended up backing this game at the royal level because it just seemed too good to pass up.  It's gotten such good reviews and is ranked in the top 20 games on BGG, yet doesn't seem too complicated to play (which is why I stay away from most of the highly ranked games on BGG).

I'm strongly considering backing this new special edition of Castles of Burgundy.

If you already own the game, it might not be a good deal, but it seems great for people who don't have it yet.

It doesn't have as many expansions as Carcassonne, but they tend to be more expensive.
As a former Catan collector myself (I haven't played the game in probably a decade now), I disagree. For every one promo Carcassonne releases, Catan has at least three! It also has nearly as many spin-offs and is quickly catching up on the number of full expansions to the base game it has, although they aren't as cross-compatible as Carcassonne's are. Rivals for Catan alone has two full-sized expansions and at least 10 single-card promos, not counting at least one cut-out promo. Catan also has many more gameplay accessories.
Technically Catan only has four expansions though: Seafarers, Cities & Knights, Traders & Barbarians, and Explorers & Pirates.  It does have a number of scenario extensions of course, but the company doesn't call them expansions.  Also, when I compared the two games, I wasn't including spin-offs and extensions like Das Buch that have been out of print for years, Only Carcassonne 2.0/3.0 stuff vs. 5th edition Catan stuff.

Catan.  I went collector crazy with it and own all the expansions and extensions for it too, just like Carcassonne.  It doesn't have as many expansions as Carcassonne, but they tend to be more expensive.

My favorite tile is definitely the one of Fort Goryoukaku.  I used to live just a five minute walk from it and went there all the time!

Why do you need d10 dice?  Aside from the special die for the fliers min-expansion, I wasn't aware this game involved any dice at all.

Does anyone else get really bent up orders from Cundco? Two out of my four orders have been so bent up that the tiles are all crooked and out of shape. Got the Count Tableau and that has a big crease down the middle of it. Getting a bit disappointing as I get so excited about these expansions coming and then they have to spend a week between a clamp trying to get them back into shape. Just wondering if many others have this same issue? My love of the postman has lessened a little of late! Lol.
I think it's probably your local mail service that is bending them.  I have made a lot of orders from Cundco and have never had a single problem with the products being damaged.

As much as I love Carcassonne, I don't love it enough to store one of these massive A1 folders in my house, so that's why I never got the maps.

Unofficial Rules / Re: Halflings can slow down the game!
« on: November 05, 2021, 04:23:57 AM »
Yeah, that is kind of a problem, so we decided to not follow the rules on this one.  At our house, we take turns randomly drawing the halfling tiles at the end after all of the regular tiles have been exhausted.  This system has worked well for us.
