Can someone adjust the profile with
Carcassonne darmstadt, and the dutch monasteries?
maybe an idea, if its possible, to separate the spin offs and the official game? with a space between it or something?
-
I will have a look at doing this tomorrow morning unless Yellow beats me to it (he usually does). It's quite late here at the moment and I should have gone to bed hours ago!

Added two new fields; One for Darmstadt and one for De Kloosters.
As always, reply to this thread if the spelling or layout is out of place.
As for a separator, there's nothing I can do about it, as far as I could tell, but I do agree something needs to change here.
Perhaps make it two columns if it's even possible.
-
I moved the fields up to where the other vanilla Carc expansions are located, and also added another field for The Sheriff (Gold Rush mini-expansion).
There doesn't appear to be a way of adding a separator.

Spielbox. Was in a forum post and you can see it on nostheide

Well good. Half & Half was a dumb name that had nothing to do with the original name (which is also a dumb name, btw). Halflings is still a dumb name, but better than the others.
-
Both rules in German have the name "Halb so wild".
-
"Halb so wild!" is "Never mind!" in english, and it uses the term "halb" which is according to the half tiles. I think you don't have any similar expression with "half" in it in the english language.

I see the joke but that's just the problem: no other Carcassonne expansions have jokes in their names. I mean "Halb so Wild" is a pun, plain and simple. Halb is just a double entente. I would be very unhappy to buy a Carcassonne expansion called "Never mind!"

I would like to point out that in the profile info, Spiel 14 tile and Spiel 15 tile are under old art Carc and should be under new art. And also Baba jaga and bogatyr are under spin-offs and should be under normal expansions for Carcassonne old art. I don't know if this is intentional, or a mistake. If on purpose tell me why please. :black1-meeple: :gray-meeple: :white-meeple:

Can it also be done so that there is a free text box to list other items which people may want to put there. Like I would like to say that I have a full set of pewter meeples.
Also, can you add a quantity box beside each expansion? It would be interesting to see how many of things people have.

All of this is certainly possible. Gantry is the one to reach for adding these and then we, the admins, can customize it. Some of us are working on a new layout for this profile to also make it more readable and easy to update.
For now, you could update your original post on your Meet the Members thread and list at the very bottom a list'n'quantities.

Forum profile section needs an update after Spiel'16.
New items to add:
- Carcassonne - Watchtowers
- Carcassonne Star Wars - Expansion 1
- Carcassonne Amazonas
- Spiel'16 tile
- Carcassonne - The Tower (new edition)
- Nightingale the Robber and Vodyanoy
-
Thanks MrNumbers. I will hopefully get to this at some point today unless Paul beats me to it. I'm back at work again today though so expecting to be busy...
-
Updated all but 2 of them and hopefully all looks good. Been a while editing these.
The Watchtowers and the promo from Russia, I could not find much about. Are these even official releases? I'd like some more info before putting them up, to have only legit officials listed here.

Thanks Paul. Watchtowers is 100% official as it was sold by Cundco at Essen this year and will probably be on the website soon. It is for the new artwork edition and there is a seperate post on the forums discussing the rules. If you have trouble finding it, I posted a video recently showing how to use the search function to find it...
EDIT: Here is the video:

Hi Paul,
Decar has posted a photo of the English rules for the mini expansion "The Watchtower" for the CC II - New Edition:

Hi GinCarc,
Abbey and Mayor is already available as a drop-down option. I haven't added Count, King and Robber as I haven't seen it yet, but I'm sure I can add it no problem.

Hi Dan
The Count,King and Robber was released about a month and a half ago, already received my copy really a great looking expansion, better than I thought it would be. and maybe adding the new version 15th Anniversary tiles would be great too.

Can we get The Festival / 15 Years Anniversary added as a new art expansion under profiles. I own it as a stand alone shrink wrapped expansion for the new art.
-
Can the 6th expansion in the new art Count, King&Consorts be added to the profile summary?
And I've noticed that Under the Big Top is listed twice in the list ;)
And with the Big Box 2017, should the mini's get their own listing in the new art? Or do we wait until they are available on their own? :)

I'll look into this shortly if no one else has.
We only list products that has been released. The minis in new art may not be available at all as far as we know.

Ok, so only if a product is available on its own it will get a listing :) So if the Mini's become available outside of BB6, I'll have to buy them so I can list them as 'owns' in my profile ;)

(Accidently hit modify instead of quote on previous comment. Woops.)
Or that they will be announced officially. :D
Doing a major overhaul in the profile fields as we speak, case things looks Catapulted.
-
A complete overhaul in the profile field collection has been made (for the old art only for now).
- Added coherent titles and descriptions.
- Organized list order
- Added Müller edition and, uhm, another field that I already forgot which one. :-[
- Missing and will be added: The Cult. If you know other releases / versions that you feel needs a separate field, let us know.

THANK YOU :(y)
I have a few suggestions or. questions concerning the titels, because e.g. I find it a little bit confusing that not all expansion have been translated. e.g: Cathedrals in Germany vs. Burgen in Deutschland instead of Monasteries in Germany.
My suggestions:
Mini-expansion 7: Crop Circles => Mini-Expansion 7: Crop Circles II (would be more logical, because there is also Crop Circles 1)
The Wind Roses => The Wind Roses I (would be more logical, because there is also The Wind Roses II)
The Wind Roses I Spielbox 2013-10 it was Issue #5 (Spielbox 2013-5)
Spielbox 2014-5: Half and Half => Spielbox 2014-5: Halflings II (like in S-CAR)
Die Belagerer => The Besiegers (like in S-CAR)
Die Deutschen Klöster => correct german name is: Klöster in Deutschland ==> Monasteries in Germany (like in S-CAR)
Half and Half II => Halflings II (like in S-CAR)
Die Klöster:??? ==> De Kloosters??? (aka dutch monasteries or Monasteries in the Netherlands & Belgium)
Bürgen in Deutschland: without "ü"= Burgen in Deutschland => Castles in Germany (like in S-CAR)
Das Labyrinth => The Labyrinth
Star Wars – Erweiterung 1 => Star Wars – Expansion 1
Temples in Japan: => not all of them are temples, my suggestion: Japanese Buildings or Buildings in Japan
The Festival (new art) => my suggestion: The Festival 15th Anniversary edition or The Festival ´15
Best Greetings!
-
Good suggestions, BigBoss. I have a few corrections/comments and will add a couple more suggestions.
The Wind Roses => The Wind Roses I (would be more logical, because there is also The Wind Roses II)
The Wind Roses I Spielbox 2013-10 it was Issue #5 (Spielbox 2013-5)
Actually, that's backwards. Although normally the Spielbox version of something would come first and then Cundco would print it later, in the case of the wind roses it's the other way around:
2012 Die Windrosen I — The Wind Roses I (Carcassonne on Tour, Cundco)
2013 Die Windrosen II — The Wind Roses II (Spielbox 2013/5)
Spielbox 2014-5: Half and Half => Spielbox 2014-5: Halflings II (like in S-CAR)
This is also backwards. The correct order is as follows:
2014 Halb so wild I — Halflings I (Spielbox 2014/5)
2014 Halb so wild II — Halflings II (Cundco)
Die Deutschen Klöster => correct german name is: Klöster in Deutschland ==> Monasteries in Germany (like in S-CAR)
Die Klöster:??? ==> De Kloosters??? (aka dutch monasteries or Monasteries in the Netherlands & Belgium)
Bürgen in Deutschland: without "ü"= Burgen in Deutschland => Castles in Germany (like in S-CAR)
According to my research, this one has two official German names — Klöster in Deutschland and Die Klöster — and the official English names, according to Cundco, are structured as "German X" rather than "X in Germany." This also makes more sense in the context of the game, because it is certainly not a "Structure in Germany" — it is a German Structure in France.
2014 Klöster in Holland a.k.a. De Kloosters — Dutch & Belgian Monasteries a.k.a. Dutch Monasteries
2014 Klöster in Deutschland a.k.a. Die Klöster — German Monasteries
2015 Burgen in Deutschland — German Castles
2016 Kathedralen in Deutschland — German Cathedrals
Temples in Japan: => not all of them are temples, my suggestion: Japanese Buildings or Buildings in Japan
Cundco calls them Klöster/Tempel in Japan, so based on the patterns above I would suggest Japanese Monasteries/Temples. (They may not all be temples/monasteries in real life, but they all function like monasteries in the game.)
Other inconsistencies I noticed:
Expansions 3 and 8 should be spelled out:
- Expansion 1: Inns & Cathedrals
- Expansion 2: Traders & Builders
- Exp 3: The Princess & the Dragon
- Expansion 4: The Tower
- Expansion 5: Abbey & Mayor
- Expansion 6: Count, King & Robber
- Expansion 7: The Catapult
- Exp 8: Bridges, Castles & Bazaars
- Expansion 9: Hills & Sheep
Mage & Witch is the only Mini that's not plural in English, so Mini-expansion 6: The Robbers should have that "s" added.
The following would all make more sense to me if the name of the expansion came first. Just thinking about this pragmatically, nobody is going to look these up by issue number. Also, for what it's worth, nostheide.de uses slashes rather than dashes.
- The Cathars (Spielbox 2004/5)
- The Tunnel (Spielbox 2009/6)
- The Plague (Spielbox 2010/6)
- Little Buildings (Spielbox 2012/5)
- The Wind Roses II (Spielbox 2013/10)
- Half and Half I (Spielbox 2014/5)
The official name of the GQ#11 thing is The Mini Expansion. To be consistent wth the other magazine releases, I would recommend labeling it like this: The Mini Expansion (Games Quarterly #11).
-
Ok. This was a lot of feedback by two members. :P >:D I'll see about going thru it all during the day, but keep in mind the following:
The new profile layout is based on information found on Cundco.de, HiG and BGG and synced with these to make things less confusing using correct spelling etc. The CAR has had very little hand in this as it will be updated eventually and hopefully adapts as well.
Titles are taken from actual English boxes and then German and so forth if English does not exist.
The errata mentioned I'll look into shortly.
-
@Just a Bill
Also very good Suggestions :(y) thanks

2012 Die Windrosen I — The Wind Roses I (Carcassonne on Tour, Cundco)
2013 Die Windrosen II — The Wind Roses II (Spielbox 2013/5)
absolutely correct!
Windroses I for the first time in october 5-7th 2012 at the Game fair in Leipzig
Windroses II may 2013 Spielbox
This is also backwards. The correct order is as follows:
2014 Halb so wild I — Halflings I (Spielbox 2014/5)
2014 Halb so wild II — Halflings II (Cundco)
Are you sure about this? (any source?)
Die Deutschen Klöster => correct german name is: Klöster in Deutschland ==> Monasteries in Germany (like in S-CAR)

Any Source for the name "Die Klöster"? ==> HiG calls them on their homepage: Die Klöster
2014 Klöster in Holland a.k.a. De Kloosters — Dutch & Belgian Monasteries a.k.a. Dutch Monasteries
2014 Klöster in Deutschland a.k.a. Die Klöster — German Monasteries
2015 Burgen in Deutschland — German Castles
2016 Kathedralen in Deutschland — German Cathedrals
absolutely right!! Thanks!

Cundco calls them Klöster/Tempel in Japan, so based on the patterns above I would suggest Japanese Monasteries/Temples. (They may not all be temples/monasteries in real life, but they all function like monasteries in the game.)
I think that's great!!! THANKS!

It isn´t really easy to find correct names because between CundCo, HiG, SpielBox & the official Rules, there isn´t a real consensus regarding the names of the expansions.
A few Examples:
Die Klöster: HiG Homepage
Klöster in Deutchland: CundCo
Klöster in Deutschland: HiG Official Rules
Das Labyrinth: HiG Homepage
Das Labyrinth: HiG Official Rules
Die Labyrinthe von Carcassonne: SpielBox/SpielDoch!
Die Labyrinthe von Carcassonne: SpielBox/SpielDoch! Official Rules
Der Graf von Carcassonne: HiG Homepage
Der Graf von Carcassonne:HIG Official Rules
Der Graf: CundCo
Klöster/Tempel in Japan: CundCo
Japanese Buildings: Official Rules HiG ==> Therefore on CarcF its translated to german: Japanische Bauwerke
The GQ Mini Expansion: I have never found an official source providing the name of this expansion:
It is called on BGG: The Mini Expansion, but in the magazine it is only mentioned on the cover as: "12 new carcassonne game tiles inside" :-\

I'll look into adding the variation names. The title is limited to about 40 characters, hence the "Exp" only instead of Expansion.

Finished the spin-off section for the forum profile.
- Starts with the Around the World series and the rest are in alphabetical order
- Added description to a few
- Added The Castle - The Falcon, though not sure it belongs here as it's a free, yet seems official. Keep or remove?
Added to the old style art a few versions of the base game: Limited edition and the one with Traders & Builders.
Update: Added Die Märkte zu Leipzig to the Profile Field. ^-^
-
I have a minor suggestion on the formatting ;).
Speaking of sections, is it OK to add two blank lines between the old and new arts? It'll be much easier for people who want to collect exclusively old or new art to know where to stop or start.
And speaking of blank lines, is it OK lump similar items into groups in the old art by adding a few lines between them? For example, base games, big expansion, minis, spielbox, non-square tiles, buildings in other countries, big box, other various expansions, around the world, other "stand alone" games that are pretty much just different art (yes, I mean the Travel and the Winter).
-
I'll look into this when I get home.
Old and new art are already separated, with spin-offs in between. ;)
Atm we are very limited and I've tried some ideas to make it more user friendly didn't quite work out so far. But we will keep trying just bare with us.
-
Thanks, Paul.
I know I probably get too obsessed about the profile recently, but it is OK to differentiate the various colours of phantom and school?
OK I'll vanish now. >:D
-
I feel something like that would mean we'll have to list every different version of the base game as well. So every different version, be it with the thief, the maiden, including different expansions etc.
Maybe thats a bit too much (at least i think so)
Same reason why im not sure if we should have both of the city versions listed? I guess because there's a version in a wooden box and one in a cardboard one, it is very different, but i must say it the completionist in me wants one (am working on the wooden box version), but not both, and in my ocd the list will tell me to get it :o
-
My OCD tells me that I only need one colour of the phantom, too. If it's blue, great; if not, so be it. So I got one from ebay, and I think it's green. And my School is yellow :-\.
I brought it up just in case some one really wants to specify a colour they want.
Or, is it possible to allow each member to add a note after the entries where there are more than one versions? By versions, I mean, different colours, cardboard/wood, minor changes in images, not Carc I versus II.
-
Only distinctive versions will be listed in the profile fields.
One list for Phantom and The School for it is the same release.
The City is very distinctive as the wooden box stands out. Understandable, I could merge these and put the info in the description.
But I could merge the base game variations into one and add the descrephencies in the description.
Update: Made the changes above and also minor tweaks to other fields. Still left to do is the new art section.
-
I'm not sure if there is an update pending, but there seems to be a growing number of entries lacking from the forum profile. Namely, Carc 2.0's Nikolaus-Zählleiste, Bridges, Castles & Bazaars, Hills & Sheep, Spiel '17 Tile, and The Fruit-Bearing Trees, as well as Amazonas Mini Expansion. (I know the latter is combined with the Die Märkte zu Leipzig.) Can these be added?
-
- Carc 2.0's Nikolaus-Zählleiste
Exp #8: Bridges, Castles & Bazaars (new art)Exp #9: Hills & Sheep (new art)Spiel '17 TileThe Fruit-Bearing Trees- Amazonas Mini Expansion
Two questions:
1) Is the "Carc 2.0's Nikolaus-Zählleiste" the special Christmas scoretracks signed by KJW?
2) Do we have a name for the Amazonas Mini Expansion?
The others have all been added.
-
1) That is correct. With the stickers on 6 and 24: https://boardgamegeek.com/boardgameexpansion/215210/carcassonne-nikolaus-zahlleiste
2) I couldn’t find another name than that:

Thank you danisthirty for adding the other 4 already to the profile! This helps my OCD...
-
With the new bits that came out around Spiel 18, would be it an idea to add these to the forum profile?
- Spiel 18 tile
- German Monasteries in new art
- The Barber-Surgeons
Anything else?

I imagine if we are adding the Amazonas tiles that we should also add the accompanying Spiel DOCH! Expansion. Also, has the Around the World: Africa game come out yet? If so, that needs to be on there.

Yes, Carcassonne Safari and the new Spiel Doch expansion!
Silly me for forgetting those

-
And exclusive edition please. This is the only reason I bought it.
What is different about the exclusive version?
The box
And the cost!
This is a tricky one. Personally I think it should be included purely by virtue of the fact that it exists as a unique version of the game. However, there are other "unique" versions of the game such as the German box which comes with CC1 which is just as unique (although probably not quite so limited) and isn't included in our list.
Thoughts?
-
I would be against adding it to the profile list, for 2 reasons:
1. As i don't have it and probably won't in the forseeable future, it would ruin my completed 'Owns' list (speaking of Completionism :o )
2. There are indeed many unique boxes, that came with a certain expansion (like the Base game + Expansions 3), and also some that are more towards this Collectors edition, like the Mueller box, and the tin box with the 2nd expansion (and the misprinted token).
Also, would we then have to include a listing for a First Edition game/scoretrack? I think we could make the list very very long, but following the current list i would not include this Collectors Edition in it
-
Thoughts?
I agree that is is not unique enough as a game to be put into the profile list. I will just remind everyone casually from time to time that I have it.
-
I think it shouldn't be in it. As it's not a mainstream published item, as there are also only 100 pieces.
-
I agree that is is not unique enough as a game to be put into the profile list. I will just remind everyone casually from time to time that I have it.
But we should add it to the Variants page on WICA.
-
It should be added so that Dan can periodically search for the 1 member who has bought it so far.
-
I'm on the case. Just give me a year or two to get around to it...
i know it hasn't even been close to a year or two, but with more recent releases, would it be possible for any of the Admins to update the profile section with the following?
- Spiel '18 tile
- German Monastaries (New Art)
- The Barber Surgeons (New Art)
- Carcassonne Around the World - Safari
- Spiel Doch mini expansion
- German Castles (New Art)
- Carcassonne Maps - Germany (New Art)
Please not the Special Limited Edition because my OCD won't allow me to now buy it to uphold my complete 'Owns' Collection

I'm on the case. Just give me a year or two to get around to it...
i know it hasn't even been close to a year or two, but with more recent releases, would it be possible for any of the Admins to update the profile section with the following?
- Spiel '18 tile
- German Monastaries (New Art)
- The Barber Surgeons (New Art)
- Carcassonne Around the World - Safari
- Spiel Doch mini expansion
- German Castles (New Art)
- Carcassonne Maps - Germany (New Art)
Please not the Special Limited Edition because my OCD won't allow me to now buy it to uphold my complete 'Owns' Collection
+1
-
OK Ok ok...
I've added some of these. Not 100% sure what order they should be in or what their descriptions should read but I'm sure you guys will help out with that?
-
Thanks!
I think the order they are in are correct from when they have been released.
The Spiel Doch Mini Expansion doesn't really have a good name, so i would suggest to keep it as is.
And Carcassonne Safari would go with the rest of the Around the World series. I'm not sure where Carcassonne Maps: Germany could go? Or is it not enough of an expansion to list?
-
Great!! more expansions to mark in 'not interested' ;D
-
I was thinking ... if you have put the unofficial hobbyworld russian promo why is not the mini "the porxada" edited by devir in Spain and recognized by Klaus himself?
-
La Porxada was never published in any form. It was just a sticker applied to a tile. Even the original version. The Russian tiles are actually printed so they’re official in that respect.

Was published in sticker form. Applied to a tile and give to any player or the National tournament of Spain. Klaus was there and sign the mini expansion...

It’s not a mystery. We do know and it has been confirmed. Several times in fact. It has never been officially printed. It has only ever been a sticker. Perhaps Devir considers it legitimate but no other Carcassonne distributor does. Klaus Jürgen-Wrede is allowed to sign whatever he wants—it doesn’t make it official.

Those are recognised by HiG, and have been printed as official tiles.
Not stickers.
But if we are to have la Porxada on the list, I will campaign to have the British Moustaches on the list to! Recognised by Carcassonne Central, and signed by Klaus :o

Doesn't matter, really. lol Okay HiG didn't edit it, no matter how much he recognized it verbally (the same thing Devir did with the porxada). It's a loop that doesn't make sense. I see that one defends and another doesn't and I don't care haha I just wanted to know why russian is in the profile and not the porxada and I see that it is something subjective like most things in this life... Like for example include them in the 'anotated rules'... Wait ... It wasn't an unofficial expansion like the mustache? Interesting... But it would open another loop and I don't feel like more time loops hahaha

OK, I will remove La Porxada from the CAR.

We have all the CAR uploaded plus all the clarifications available up to date for C1, C2 and WE for starters... The main reference pages with dynamic capabilities that allow picking expansions to customize the pages. The spin-offs are under way. Pages can be printed and we can create combined pages for C1, C2 or whatever we want.
Do you have any insights about what happened or how they failed?

Big Box 7 (2021) is available as a new option in your profiles.

Maybe this is one of the fastest addition to profile in last days / years :D
-
Ooooh! Thank you! ;D
-
Please @Meepledrone add also Carcassonne 3 Basic game into profile. This will be quicked entry ever :D
-
Question is - Is Peasant revolt Edition 2.0 or 3.0? Similar to Japanese Buildings? :D
-
To me it seems the peasant revolt mini-expansion is a Carcassonne v3 expansion. The clipped buildings, rounder corners and also the brighter green grass color quite clearly matches with the 20th Anniversary edition art style. Grass patches are also more detailed as well, with some mud detail for instance.
But Carcassonne v3 really? It is just a slight visual upgrade...
-
Perhaps they have also refreshed the rules to include all of Meepledrone's corrections..... ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
-
Well.
I understand that Carcassonne is for HiG "Dojná krava" (something for Decar's amussins", which means Milking cow but also means in business Cash cow.
I will not have problem with it, if HiG will have nice customer care. Want to sell? Then support your customers. They have questions? Answer it? You have something new? Let them know.
I understand that HiG want to sell their 20 Anniversary edition. So they didn't know to us about new BigBox 2021 or Carcassonne 3.0 to buy 20th edition on Essen gameshow.
But why to buy BigBox 2021 or Carcassonne 3.0. Just now is released 20th Edition in English. So they publish 3 products including basic game in same time. Nog dood for business.
Perhaps they have also refreshed the rules to include all of Meepledrone's corrections..... ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
Hmm, there are for me still variation of C2
So Meepledrone and all WiCa stuff can be calm about create new ruleset for 3.0. Some corrections like new tiles for River will be added or tiles for distribution can be updated.
-
We will have to split C3.0 eventually and freeze C2.0 as is... almost like C1 at present
Now it is the time to decide the approach to clarifications in an orderly manner... >:D
Should we consider the following separation?
C2.1:
...
* Spiel '21 Tile
C2.5 (20th Anniversary Edition):
* Base Game 20th Anniversary Edition
* River 20th Anniversary Edition
* 20th Anniversary Expansion
C3.0:
* Base Game
* Exp. 1 (in BB7 only so far)
* Exp. 2 (in BB7 only so far)
* River I 3.0
* Minis #1-#7 (in BB7 only)
* The Gifts
* Peasant Revolts
* ...Whatever else they release by the Advent Campaign...

Haven't been on the site in quite a while, but I got an email alert on this topic. Seeing how weak the continuity discipline has gotten at HiG makes me even more glad I didn't start to become a completionist on new Carc. The multiple redesigns and the "need" to keep rebuying the whole system might have killed my joy for the game.
Don't get me wrong, completionism is pretty fun — but these endless format changes are getting kind of ridiculous. I'm so glad I somehow got booted out of the cult mindset, and I'm pretty happy with my "closed canon" of classic Carcassonne.
This split-building business is ... surprisingly ill-advised. It's like they've completely forgotten how the quaint beauty of Doris' original artwork was so foundational to the game and its early success. Part of the fun of playing was sitting back afterwards and admiring the landscape that was built. Unfortunately every new development seems to replace parts of that countryside beauty with a cacophony of noisy tiles. Rip out the heart, stick in a pacemaker, make everything flash and beep and spam words & numbers across the tiles... and when you see a patch of empty grass, for heaven's sake FILL THAT SPACE UP WITH STUFF! The artwork approach now seems to be "The noisier, the better."
It's still Carcassonne in terms of game mechanics. But no longer in terms of beauty. Some players like this flashiness and busy-ness better; I get that. To each his own. But I can't escape the fact that it's not the sweet, slender, soft-spoken girl we knew in high school; it's an aging, overweight woman caked with heavy makeup and laboring under pounds of gaudy jewelry. And she's LOUD. When in doubt, wear more bangles; increase the makeup; add more colors; combine stripes with polka-dots.
In one man's opinion, anyway. (Probably the wrong opinion for this clubhouse.) I'll go back to shutting up now.

Why is 20 Anniversary edition as 2.5? It hasn't rounded corners?
-
I'm calling it C2.5 because of the Easter Eggs...
No matter what they say in the rules about combining this version with some expansions, Johannes told us the 20th Anniversary Edition wasn't designed to be a replacement of the base game when playing with other expansions so... Prime Directive! :o :o :o
The anniversary edition is not a Substitute for the base game. So the same statement applies here: We won't give you official rules for combinations of expansions. (4/14/2021)

You are not alone in this case! True carcassonne always will be original Doris stuff. It’s a complete collection. I’m a completionist but not for C2 because I don’t like it. This forum needs more C1 lovers! Please don’t go away :(

So Carcassonne 20 is actually v3, because it can't be used with any other expansions.
Making v3 v3.1.
-
The new stuff is NOT 3.0. It is done by the same artist as 2.0 and still resembles 2.1 in almost every way except the crowded Cities. That’s it. Are they releasing a new box cover? Yes, but if you look at the original Carcassonne boxes they were continuously tweaked with a grim knight and robber ultimately replaced by an enchanted knight and flirty maiden. While there is definitely a continuity break in 2014 due to a change in artists, that is definitely not the case in 2021. Same artist, same style, just editorial tweaks to the format.
-
The new box art is nice, but i would agree it would not necessarily mean that we're into C3 now. "A new design" can be just aimed at the box art, which has changed a lot in C1 and even in C2.
In terms of box art, it would be the 4th edition of C2 ;)
We've seen 1 webshop calling it a "New Edition", and they did mention a revised rulesheet and more detailed tiles.
I'll wait to see what HiG/Cundco call it if/when they release the new base game&BB7. If they call it a "New Edition", i'd be more inclined to go with C3 for it. If not, i'm happy to stick with C2.2
In terms of how to list it in the profiles, i would suggest waiting for the same. If HiG call these C3, let's follow that. If they don't, then just list BB7 under the C2 section.
We don't have separate entries for different box arts, or special/limited editions of things. Carc20 would be understandable to list, as it brings a (so far) unique expansion&river.
And i wouldn't list the mini's separately until they can be purchased from a publisher separately. We don't have them listed separately from BB6 either.
-
I thing divide between C2 and C3 is good to solve different tile design (rounded corners in c3).
So C1 and C2 are compatible because they have same design of tiles and also same design on back side.
But C3 have different design and tiles in Tower or in stack are visibly different.
This is maybe why HiG published Carc20 bags.

This is what Johannes told us... but to my surprise, HiG distributed the following brochure at Essen saying:
Die Carcassonne Jubiläumsedition ist mit allen Erweiterungen beliebig kombinierbar.
In English this means:
The Carcassonne Anniversary Edition can be combined with all expansions as desired.
OK. Gotta go to prepare some questions for HiG... >:D

YES YES YES YES YES!

I updated the profile fields to add The Signposts and Carcassonne 3.0...
I also moved all the sets with clipped to a new group called NEW ARTWORK 3.0 for the time being... Let's see if HiG confirms this eventually.

I know about the releases, but it is still C2 artwork even if with some added more recent details. The previously used C2.2 is more appropriate if we want a fan term. It is the same situation as the switch to lighter city colors. C3 would require an entire overhaul of artwork/artstyle.

Yes, I think it should be called 2.2, and 3.0 came from third iteration of the same big box 4/6, hence the number.
-
This is just temporary until we have some kind of official confirmation... It just caught my eye that no matter how similar the C2.1 and the C2.2 artworks are, HiG has tagged the new releases as v3.0.
If you check KJW's page, you'll see how the suffix III is added to items included in Big Box 3.0 (2021):

As Snearone said, this may just indicate the third iteration within C2 or within big boxes - currently the labeling is too inconsistent to say for sure. But even if it would be C3, Peasant revolts, Gifts and 20th anniversary edition shouldn't be there as they appeared before. Also the new BigBox should be called BigBox 7 as that is the community convention - otherwise HiG doesn't formally number BigBoxes.

* Mists over Carcassonne - Spell Circles
Enjoy!

It says "The Toolkeepers (C3)" instead of Tollkeepers.
But thanks for keeping the profile up to date! :yellow-meeple:

(Of course, for all we know, you could have just added a new expansion: maybe the monks needed a place to store their garden tools. ;) )

The Member seach feature is very simple. It doesn't include custom fields, which are the ones used to store the sets and expansions a membe has. Let's see if we can find something to extend this.
