Question #25: Red places this tile and completes two roads. How many points will each player score?

Answer #25: Red completes two roads with one inn each, a regular inn on the Spiel'22 tile and a traditional Ukranian house acting as an inn.

Red will score 8 points (4 tiles x (1 point for the road + 1 point for the inn) = 4 x 2 points).

Blue will score 6 points (3 tiles x (1 point for the road + 1 point for the inn) = 3 x 2 points).

Bottomline:
* Red will score 8 points
* Blue will score 6 points

I included an inn to consider the Ukranian traditional house as an inn as well. If your game includes no inns, you may ignore the Ukranian house.

Question #26: Red places this tile and completes two roads. How many points will each player score if these are the betting chips affecting the roads?

Answer #26: This question has two different answers depending on the rules applied to the German castle:
* C1 rules, where each tile is counted separately
* C2/C3 rules, where double-sized tiles are considered as two tiles in some cases like this one.

Let's start with the answer if using C2/C3 rules, the current ones, and let's do C1 later.

C2/C3 rules

Red completes two roads ending at a German castle:
* The road occupied by Blue and Yellow has 7 tiles (each half of the German castle counts as a separate tile when scoring the road) and two betting offices, one top left and another on the right.
* The road occupied by Red has 4 tiles and one betting office, bottom left.

Let's score each road in turn and then the betting offices:

1. Scoring the top road

Blue and Yellow will score 10 points for the road (7 points for the road + 3 points for the German castle):
* 7 points for the road (7 tiles x 1 point)
* 3 bonus points for the German castle at the end of the road (it doesn't matter if the road ends twice at the same castle; the road will receive the German castle bonus only once).

2. Scoring the bottom road

Red will score 7 points for the road (4 points for the road + 3 points for the German castle):
* 4 points for the road (4 tiles x 1 point)
* 3 bonus points for the German castle at the end of the road.

3. Scoring the betting office top left

Only Red will score for their 4/7+ betting chip here. Since the road has 7 tiles, the player will receive 7 points. Blue and Yellow will score no points for their betting chips.

4. Scoring the betting office on the right

Only Blue will score for their 4/7+ betting chip here. Since the road has 7 tiles, the player will receive 7 points. Red and  Yellow will score no points for their betting chips.

5. Scoring the betting office bottom left

Red and Yellow will score for their betting chips since the road has 4 tiles:
* Red will score 8 points for their 4 betting chip.
* Yellow will score 4 points for the 4/7+ betting chip.

Bottomline:
* Blue will score 17 points (10 points for the top road + 7 points for their betting chip on the right betting office)
* Red will score 22 points (7 points for the bottom road + 7 points for their betting chip on the betting office top left + 8 points for the betting chip on the betting office bottom left)
* Yellow will score 14 points (10 points for the top road + 4 points for their beting chip on the betting office bottom left)

C1 rules

Red completes two roads ending at a German castle:
* The road occupied by Blue and Yellow has 6 tiles (the German castle is counted as one tile) and two betting offices, one top left and another on the right.
* The road occupied by Red has 4 tiles and one betting office, bottom left.

Let's score each road in turn and then the betting offices:

1. Scoring the top road

Blue and Yellow will score 9 points for the road (6 points for the road + 3 points for the German castle):
* 6 points for the road (6 tiles x 1 point)
* 3 bonus points for the German castle at the end of the road (it doesn't matter if the road ends twice at the same castle; the road will receive the German castle bonus only once).

2. Scoring the bottom road

Red will score 7 points for the road (4 points for the road + 3 points for the German castle):
* 4 points for the road (4 tiles x 1 point)
* 3 bonus points for the German castle at the end of the road.

3. Scoring the betting office top left

Only Yellow will score for their 3/6 betting chip here. Since the road has 6 tiles, the player will receive 6 points. Blue and Red will score no points for their betting chips.

4. Scoring the betting office on the right

Only Red will score for their 2/6 betting chip here. Since the road has 6 tiles, the player will receive 6 points. Blue and  Yellow will score no points for their betting chips.

5. Scoring the betting office bottom left

Red and Yellow will score for their betting chips since the road has 4 tiles:
* Red will score 8 points for their 4 betting chip.
* Yellow will score 4 points for the 4/7+ betting chip.

Bottomline:
* Blue will score 9 points for the top road
* Red will score 21 points (7 points for the bottom road + 6 points for their betting chip on the right betting office + 8 points for the betting chip on the betting office bottom left)
* Yellow will score 19 points (9 points for the top road + 6 points for their betting chip on the betting office top left + 4 points for their beting chip on the betting office bottom left)

Question #27 : Red places this tile and completes several features. The player has the following questions:
1. Can Red move the ferry so that the road occupied by Yellow stays uncompleted? (If possible, consider it for the following question.)
2. How many points will each player score?
3. The player sequence is Blue - Red - Yellow. What sequence should follow the gold ingot distribution if Red wants to get the most gold ingots possible?  (The gold ingots are marked with a letter to facilitate the answer.)
4. How many gold ingots would each player get?

Answer #27: Red completes a monastery occupied by the player, a city occupied by Blue and a road occupied by Yellow.

Red extends the road occupied by Yellow ending at a ferry lake. Since the ferry is not connected to that road, it cannot be moved and the road stays completed.

Let's score each feature first:
* Red will score 9 points for the completed monastery (9 tiles x 1 point per tile)
* Blue will score 8 points for the city (4 tiles x 2 points per city tile)
* Yellow will score 4 points (4 tiles x 1 point per road)

The gold ingots on the tiles may be eligible for one or more players in this case according to the completed features found on those tiles:
* Gold ingot A can be picked by Blue (the city) and Red (the monastery).
* Gold ingot B can be picked by Blue (the city) and Red (the monastery).
* Gold ingot C can be picked by Blue (the city) and Red (the monastery) and Yellow (the road).
* Gold ingot D can be picked by Red (the monastery).

According to this, let's now distribute the gold ingots following the player sequence:
* Red will take a gold ingot first as the active player. In order to receive the most gold ingots, the player's best first option is to pick gold ingot C, which is on a tile contributing to the three completed features.
* Yellow is up next. As a result of Red's action, Yellow will have no option to receive a gold ingot, since there is no gold ingot left on any tile contributing to their road.
* It's Blue's turn now. Blue may pick gold ingot A or B, but the outcome will be the same, as we will see next.
* Now Red is up next again. The player should pick gold ingot B or A, according to Blue's decision. This way there will be no gold ingots left on any tile contributing to the city.
* Yellow will be skipped again, since there are no gold ingots left on the road tiles.
* Blue will be skipped too, since there are no gold ingots left on the city tiles.
* Finally, Red will take the only gold ingot left, gold ingot D.

So Red managed to receive 3 gold ingots whereas Blue got only one and Yellow none.

Bottomline: This is the answer to Red's questions:
1. The player may not move the ferry and reopen Yellow's road.
2. The scoring  is as follows:
   * Blue scores 8 points for the city
   * Red scores 9 points for the monastery
   * Yellow scores 4 points
3. The recommended sequence for Red to receive the most gold ingots is one of the following (two options depending on Blue's first pick):
   * Red - gold ingot C / Blue - gold ingot A / Red - gold ingot B / Red - gold ingot D
   * Red - gold ingot C / Blue - gold ingot B / Red - gold ingot A / Red - gold ingot D
4. The number of gold ingots received by each player is:
   * Blue gets 1 gold ingot
   * Red get 3 gold ingots
   * Yellow gets 0 gold ingots

Question #28 : Red places this tile and completes a city. The player has the following questions:
1. Does Red get a double turn in this case?
2. How many points will each player score?

Answer #28: Red completes a city occupied occupied by Blue, Red and Yellow. The three players share the majority. Red's builder does not count for the majority, so it is also irrelevant it is placed on a hill.

The city has a watchtower with a Red Meeple which will be scored first. Red will receive 6 points for the watchtower scoring for neighboring meeples (3 meeples x 2 points each). The watchtower will not consider the builder; it will only consider the Red Meeple on the watchtower tile, the Blue Meeple on an adjacent city tile and the Yellow Abbot on the adjacent monastery.

Blue, Red and Yellow will then score 18 points for the city ( (7 tiles + 2 coats of arms) x 2 points = 9 x 2 points).

Bottomline: This is the answer to Red's questions:
1. Yes, Red is granted a double turn, since the player extends the city with their builder. It doesn't matter that the tile placement completes the city and the builder is returned to its owner.
2. The number of points received by each player is as follows:
   * Blue scores 18 points for the city
   * Red scores 24 points (6 points for the watchtower + 18 points for the city)
   * Yellow scores 18 points for the city

Question #29 : The game is over and the players have the following questions:
1. How many different fields are there in this scenario?
2. How many points will each player score?

Answer #29: Since mist banks separate fields, this scenario has 7 fields as illustrated i the image below:
* Fields #1 and #2: Two fields along the road going down from the haunted castle occupied by Yellow. Both fields pass under the bridge.
* Field #3: One field occupied by Red's normal meeple.
* Field #4: One field at the bottom occupied by Blue's guard meeple.
* Field #5: One field occupied by Red's guard meeple and a pig.
* Field #6: One small unoccupied field bottom right.
* Field #7: One tiny unoccupied field between a road, a city and a mist bank at the top.

This end-of-game scenario includes several features. Let's score them on by one:

* An uncompleted castle occupied by Yellow. This feature has 4 neighboring tiles with mist, so it is worth 4 points (4 tiles with mist x 1 point)

* An uncompleted monastery occupied by Yellow's abbot with one ghost. The monastery is worth 5 points (5 tiles x 1 point) but the abbot has 1 ghost, so the player will score 4 points (5 points - 1 point for the ghost).

* A road occupied by Blue with 6 tiles (one of them with a bridge). The player will score 6 points (6 tiles x 1 point).

* Field #3 occupied by Red with a normal meeple with 2 ghosts (top left). This field has only 1 city (note that the 3-tile city does not border this filed due to the mist). Therefore the player scores 1 point ( (1 city x 3 points) - (2 ghosts x 1 point) = 3 - 2 points)

* Field #4 occupied by Blue with a guard meeple (bottom). This field has 0 completed cities, so the player scores 0 points.

* Field #5 occupied by Red with a guard meeple (bottom right) and a pig. The player will score 4 points for the field ( (1 city x (3 points for the city + 1 point for the pig) = 1 x 4 points)

Bottomline: Here are the answers to the questions:
1. There are 7 fields in this scenario.
2. The players will score as follows:
   * Blue scores 6 points for the road
   * Red scores 5 points (1 point for the Field #3 + 4 points for the Field #5)
   * Yellow scores 8 points (4 points for the haunted castle + 4 points for the monastery)
