Daily dose of Carcassonne googling I found this. v2 version which includes golden bags, in case anyone missed it. Also included is River I.

Seems the bags are meant for the wooden figurines more than the tiles themselves.

This is really testing my completionism. Another set of Carcassonne 2.0 purely for two little gold bags? Hmm. Even I'm struggling to justify that one. But if I did go for it, I imagine my daughter would pinch the bags and use them for storing hair-ties, loom bands or other such nonsense, so I think I can probably give it a miss...

Why are they gold, and why only two? Looks, like they are not in any way related to the product, just a free give-away, this retailer has from somewhere else in stock and adds to the purchase.
EDIT: Also "List price $49.99" seems fishy to me. Where does that come from? Contrary to the price of the game without bags ($34.99) not from the Z-Man site, anyway. So "list price" is +$15, and that's make the offer seems like a bargain, which it is not. (Let's face it, they are quite sure not made of real gold.)

Reason there are two bags is that the first bag is to hold the undrawn tiles and the second is to put them back in again when you see how "glitzy" the artwork is. :@

I'm sure, it's a trustworthy retailer, regarding shipping and service. I just consider, that offer awkward, but this can anybody have his or her own opinion about, and nobody is forced to buy it.

Actually, I think even the bag, but I like your reply. I don't consider the Pätzke-artwork downright ugly. Unnecessary, no improvement to the one from Matthäus, which I'm glad to have rather then the new one, but the bags are really soppy.

I don't think these are intented for tiles, the bags. As stated in the sale, these are for meeples. Judging by the size of the bag, one alone can't seem to hold half the tiles. And they are thrown in as a bonus, not actually mentioned that these are official Carcassonne merchandise.

The bags are a bonus from the seller - probably he didn't sell the game before.

They don't specify, what for the bag is in "Bang", but they do tell "for the cards" in Batman vs. Joker (http://www.amazon.com/Batman-Rivals-Showdown-Drawstring-Storage/dp/B00RYAHWQO/ref=aag_m_pw_dp?ie=UTF8&m=A10K4YCHICURB6). Now, would anybody use a bag like that for storing cards? ???
