Pig+pig herd rule

In a practice game on JCZ with Khalidqasrawi, using the Traders & Builders, Abbey & Mayor and GQ11 expansions, we noticed the following:
- a farmer in the pig-herd-field + a wooden pig scored 5 points/completed city if you introduce the barn
- when a farmer + pig joins a field with a barn + the pig herd-tile, it scores 3 points/completed city.

We weren't sure the pig & pig herd tile add up or don't add up but if they do, that's a very powerful thing.  The CAR rules are a bit blurry to me concerning the combination wooden pig & pig herd.  Anyone a clear view on this?

Yes, they do combine. At least as per the ruling of Big Box 3 by Rio Grande Games.
