In the last couple of years dipping in and out of eBay I don't think I've seen a WoF listed, so thought it was therefore a bit less common and that the completionists might be interested. If that's a wrong assumption my apologies.

If anyone is interested, I noticed last night that the charity, AirAmbulance, are selling a (used) standalone copy of Wheel of Fortune (Rio Grande Games) on UK eBay. Deadline is 2nd January 2018 at 20:10 UK time.

If you’re looking for something a bit more than that in a two-player game, I’d go with something like Jaipur instead.
Many thanks for the suggestion. Santa brought Jaipur for Christmas. Quite enjoyable, and probably requires a little bit more thought than Odin's Ravens would have. Went back to the shop I'd seen it (OR) in a few weeks later (in case I could get a copy for Decar) but they no longer had any copies. Maybe I should have taken a punt when they had it in stock!

... and avoid to take the meeple out of my Carc Box as he is prone to mischief and hiding on strange related places:
The new "Elf on the Shelf"?

In local Waterstones's bookshop they have Odin's Ravens which I was wondering about as a stocking filler for "us". Pretty much same price as I've seen through Amazon. They carry the odd Pandemic box, plus about 20 versions of Monopoly, so was surprised to see something a little bit off mainstream or not aimed at kids. Anyone played it and have views whether it's worth taking a shot at. I've had a look at some runthroughs off YouTube and it seems quite straightforward. Definitely a light 2-player filler (20mins maybe).

There are a couple of expansions using Wells that add points to roads. I will randomly pick 8 or so for all our games. Can be beneficial if you can put them on roads with Inns. I've also printed off the Fishermen expansion, but just to give me different river tile layouts, and to allow us to have more realistic rivers, rather than using the fishermen scoring..
We regularly use a few of my own expansions (of course!), which mostly add alternative landscape elements to make a more interesting tilescape (aka break up fields) as opposed to adding loads of new rules. But I do include Decar's Astronomers (in one of its formats), and my own Stone Circles and Bountiful Harvest (around this time of year) as the mood takes me. I will occasionally throw in a few tiles from some random expansion, or a new configuration just to provide a new challenge in tactics and layout options - for example we've tried Basilica, Capitals, and some one-tile cities. I have downloaded many of the expansions, but haven't necessarily printed them off, although its interesting to see the different ideas, designs and rules that folks have come up with over the years - it's quite varied! And so as not to repeat something that's already been done.

The meeple design has changed a couple of times though the Carcassonne lifecycle. Based on the photo these meeple look older in design that the latest standard-meeple, but it's hard to tell when they're not side by side.
Something else for all you completionists ... ? There's an interesting thread running on CarcF at the moment with someone making their own using casting resin.

German Shopping Centres

PS - Two of the expansions I've listed exist predominantly within my imagination...
Isn't that the Leipzig Market expansion you're getting confused by ...?

I'll be meeting up with the original designer, Robert (J) Harris, in a couple of weeks time (family friend). GW bought him out (of Talisman) many years ago, but he's since gone on to write mainly children's novels - he's the other Robert Harris (not the one who wrote Fatherland). See a brief bio or his website. I, too, acquired the Second Edition a few years ago (having known about it since it was a pre-production playtest), and picked up a couple of the minor expansions at the time, but as a it's generally only two of us playing at home it doesn't come out very often (now that we've found Carc!). In our first game, one of us, I can't remember who, died early on while still on the outer ring! In the second game I decided just to head for the centre after dotting back and forth on the outer ring for a bit, more to see what happened, than with any real hope of surviving ... I seem to recall my character died in doing so ...

To be honest, I also don't know for sure. I always struggle if Violet is a man or a woman. The only thing I can tell you is, that I sent her a parcel once and it was directed to a man. So I guess he would be correct. Still, this also might be the name of her husband... I guess the best thing would be to ask him/her him-/herself. Then you could also ask if it is ok for him/her if you use the gardens for your own expansions (if you haven't done already).
It's a "he"! I asked to use the trees from the orchard as part of my "Bountiful Autumn" expansion, and for confirmation whether it was original artwork, or came from original Carc tiles. I wonder if, like Paul (who used to be known as "yellow") it's just the colour he always played with ...

Yeah, sorry! I could have picked a bit like that from any of several of the previous posts ... yours just happened to be the last!

No, not at all - the more roads the merrier! Some folks don't want to, or don't feel they have the tools/skills to make their own tiles, and would prefer only to use official tiles. I think the original post was about using just the official expansions not the base game an not having enough roads. Although it depends if you want to treat the special WoF tiles as an "expansion" ...

All the comments about roads being under-represented in mega-carc and in expansion sets in general ... If you want more roads (on official tiles), the Wheel of Fortune scoring tiles are mostly roads ... as Quevy suggested in another thread, take the value on the WoF tiles as bonus points for that road if you don't want to play with the original rules and wheel. Also, the fan-created Wells expansions are all road-based.
