Title: Preference in terminology and correctness
Post by: DIN0 on March 12, 2021, 11:13:26 AM
Hi fellow ethusiasts. I have one question about proper spelling of our beloved eshop cundco.de
From what I understand, the root of this shortened form is 'Carcassonne und Co', which would mean the proper short version is CundCo. But more frequently, I see this form: Cundco. So which one is correct, the capital C or lower case c in the middle?

Aside from that I added a poll to find out what form of nomenclature you prefer for old and new artwork. CI and CII, or C1 and C2.

C1 and C2 as there's also C2.1  :yellow-meeple:

But I often use CI and CII

It all depends on the situation. I actually usually just call it "old art" and "new art," but the shorthand for me is usually C1 and C2, as corinthiens13 said, partially because of the C2.1 (and now C2.2!) issue. That being said, I used CI and CII a lot when the new version was first coming out a baffling six years ago!

Hmm. I saw mostly C1/C2 versions. widely used also on CarcF.de and CardF.cz

Is C2.1 Peasants Revolts and C2.2 the 20th Jubilee? -  :pink-meeple:

C2.1 is when HiG fixed the City ground colour to make it more distinct. It’s actually a pretty jarring colour shift when you compare the two. C2.2 is definitely the jubilee version. Peasant Revolts is just an expansion so doesn’t count as a new base game art style.

CII has one more character than C2. Bad.

C2.2 is still an object of debate.

The jubilee is a special edition, not a new art, as there won't be any other expansions with those added flags, banners and easter eggs.
But the increased amount of houses in cities could be C.2.2, and that starts with the peasant revolts...  :yellow-meeple:

Ah ha. So, there was a period of time that the C2 edition had a different landscape color? 2014 - when? -  :pink-meeple:

I prefer C1/C2 vs. CI/CII... It is easy to miss or add an extra I.

I find C1/C2 easier to read and also allows you to qualify the subversion: C2.0, C2.1...

C2.2 really? If HiG persevere in cluttering city segments and cropping any overflowing buildings, we can refer to it as a new artwork revision. I find it more visually stressful as city edges do not match seamlesly anymore...

I'm impatient to check the 20th Annoversary tiles too... since fields feature a number of additional decorations that make spotting sheds, highwaymen and especially farmhouses more demanding.

2016. And it was most obvious in the cities. For more info see :-

Thank you for the feedback so far! Does anyone have an answer to my second question?

HiG uses "Cundco". For example, check here:

I feel like there’s so much valuable information in the wiki that the secret of life, love, and successful marriage is in there somewhere! -   :pink-meeple:

In this case, the question has been asked quite often in the forum - so it was logical to create a page about it ...

Understand. Given the difference with 2 and 2.1, I feel more strongly than ever that Peasant Revolts/Jubilee ‘20 overly congested city artwork should be 2.2. Not sure how that would be represented in Roman numerals-  :pink-meeple:
