Title: 5 Player with WoF and Traders & Builders
Post by: Carcking on April 27, 2013, 08:55:41 PM
Here are some pics from a recent 5 player game.

Here's what was included:
Inns & Cathedrals
Wheel of Fortune
Traders & Builders
The Flyer
Little Buildings (our first game with this expansion)
Cathars & Siege tiles
Abbeys
Father Time
Stairs/Upper Carcassonne
Bluffs/Farmer in the Dell
Magic Gates
Builder
Mayor
Phantom
Bridges

Little Buildings played well but it does clutter the board a little and you have to be careful when scoring features to make sure you've got the relevant ones included.

The game lasted about 2 and a half hours which is about typical for us. It was closely fought and in the end Green won by 21 points. He scored a nice Inn on the Lake road late in the game which gave him the late lead. It was a chase after that and we couldn't quite reach him. We had a great time.

Did you play Little Buildings with the buildings scoring equally or 3, 2, 1 value? I have only tried it with equal value.

We palyed it with equal value. With it being our first play we didn't want to make it complicated.

I can see now after playing it will be a challenge to determine (at least quickly and easily) if the buildings included in the particular score are 1, 2 or 3 point buildings. Especially the house and shack - they are very similar at a glance. But it would make you consider which building you would want to place where. You would try to get the 3 point tower placed where you potentially could score it multiple times...and try to get it on your farm for sure.
