Mr Numbers did a random draw for me this morning, and I am proud to announce the fixtures of the 'Alternative' World Cup, which starts today and finished at midnight GMT on the day that the 'real' final is played.

11   Hounk   v TheSteveAllen    197 - 224

13   Thodekey   v Hounk   225 - 228

Using the Quarter Final Configuration

23   TheSteveAllen   v Thodekey 236 - 322

24   Jungleboy   v Thodekey

25   Sinscerely   v Chooselife   300 - 248

26   Halfling   v Sinscerely

27   Rosco    v TheSteveAllen   322 - 329

28   Chooselife   v Hounk

Each competitor can play up to 7 matches, as given above, but must play at least 3 matches to qualify and be included in the championship table. In addition, each player must play each set of configurations (QF, SF and Final). Games can be played in any order. As usual, there is no Home or Away player, so use a random starter.

Once the first player has met these requirements, I will be making a 'league table' of all those that have so far qualified, which will be kept up to date on this thread.

The table will be according to score difference, and not according to wins (as other leagues). This should mean that the first place is up for grabs right until the very end of the tournament.

In addition to point difference, there will be a 30 point bonus for winning a match, or 30 points each in the event of a draw.

Please post the results of your games along with the game number (as given above) on this thread so that I can keep a tally at my end, and update the table.

This competition is designed to have all matches completed by the end but, given the lengths of the games, I realise that this is impossible to achieve. I only ask, therefore, that despite having a real life too, you all try to play as many of your 7 fixtures as possible.

Any questions? Please post on this thread.

Good luck to all and a big 'Thanks' for entering!

The configurations for the games are copied here:-

QF:
Traders and Builders + Abbey and Mayor + The Corn Circles + The Count of Carcassonne + GQ11 + The Phantom = 123 tiles (starting tile and 2 tiles from GQ11 are excluded).
GQ11 option "The Pig herd is present on the farm tile" is ON.

SF:
Inns and Cathedrals + The Tower + The Festival + The Goldmines + The German Monasteries + Mage and Witch = 134 tiles (cloisters from the base game have to be removed).

Final:
Traders and Builders + The Princess and The Dragon + Bridges, Castles and Bazaars + The River II + The Besiegers + The Flier + The Phantom = 163 tiles (starting tile is excluded).

Halfling:
Does the winner get an entry to the champions league next season?

Rosco:
I have a bit of a problem as I currently only have internet on my phone.  BT are trying to fix the problem.

I would like to say "Don't worry, there is plenty of time to play your matches". Then I realised that you were relying on BT!!  :(

Keep us posted. We will work around it.  :(y)

If you come last, you get relegated to the Scottish Premiership.  :))
