I'm not inclined to believe this until I hear it from an official source.

That's what I suspected, but I wanted to make sure it was clear in case anyone decides to take you up on this offer.

To clarify, are you looking for Tunnel OR Kornkreise 1 in exchange for WoF, or are you looking for BOTH in exchange for WoF?

The examples in the CAR match the original rules because the CAR is a translation of them. Having different examples would make the perceptibly CAR different from the original rules. Adding more examples would be ok though.

I know that some of you, particularly DLloyd09, are excited about this idea, but as Derek and Chris have mentioned, we need to think through the ramifications and make sure that the publisher is on board.

I haven't heard from Jeffrey yet; we'll see if he invites me over tomorrow afternoon.

I still wear a standard 1.5" leather belt. I don't think I'll switch to a fully nylon belt, but I did back a Kickstarter campaign that was a leather/nylon hybrid. I don't like a lot of stuff in my pockets, so I carry my cell phone, multitools, and flashlight on my belt. The regular, non-reinforced leather belts you buy in a mens'-wear store aren't sturdy enough.

There are two cloisters in H&S.

Oops, I totally counted both cloisters when I was looking at the tiles, but I put it in the 1 cloister list by accident. Fixed!

Burg Konradsheim deserves a tile for hosting the annual fan meetings.

I was under the impression that Castles was to be a six tile expansion?

Keep the discussion going for the British Isles. Kalinda is doubtful, but she's going to see if management is interested. I think it's safe to say that, based on what happened with the Dutch/Belgian monastery expansion, there will be the same or more demand for expansions covering the British Isles as well as France itself.

I'd like to suggest that if you see something in the miscellaneous tip thread that you want to include as part of a larger article, I think we should encourage that.

If you're going to take an action which will benefit another player and you have a choice between which player will benefit, you should at least consider how many points each player currently has, and, time permitting, try to consider approximately how many points they are poised to earn with the followers they have currently deployed.

Having all players sharing equally in the same feature might make everyone feel good, but the points become worthless because everyone earns the same number. When such a situation is forming, at least one player needs to be shut out so that the points retain some value to the others involved.

When placing a cloister (or equivalent tile), find a spot where the largest possible number of sides will be already completed, to minimize the number of turns that your follower will be deployed on the cloister.

The thought hadn't really crossed my mind that this was an either/or thing. I see it as a companion, and because of that we need to think through how the process of keeping the two of them synchronized is going to work. What I'm thinking right now, based on your latest comments, is that the wiki would probably need to become the authoritative "document", as it would be kept up-to-date constantly. The PDF releases would continue to occur on a regular cycle, which could then be printed and inserted into a binder, or saved to your tablet for situations where you don't have Internet access.

As such, I think it would be best to pull together a small group of 2-4 people to initially load up the wiki, get some people to proofread and offer feedback, and then Obervet would become solely in charge of editing, so that he can keep track of what needs to be changed in the next PDF release. I don't want to make his life difficult by having multiple people editing the wiki. If there was a way to have separate permissions for the Talk pages, that might be helpful for keeping track of questions and answers with the publisher.

I mentioned to her that Udo let the community pick the castles, so I'm hoping if ZMG is willing to participate that they'll let us pick the castles too, in which case I think we should take a similar approach and try to achieve representation from all parts of the UK.

That begs the question of whether a picture of the pants is enough, or if I need to be wearing them in the picture...

Here's an official photo from the manufacturer's marketing materials. I buy my shirts from them too, so I was wearing the exact same shirt at the time.

I alternately wear green pants with a khaki shirt, or navy blue pants with a navy blue shirt when I want people to show me a little more respect. C:-)

If you have both sets of Halflings, you already have enough for 12 players.

We could make a catapult token usage tracking sheet for those who don't want to obtain a second set. (Was bad enough buying Catapult the first time...)

The four Tunnel expansion tiles have 10 tunnel entrances. If you're playing P&D, you have one more tile with 2 entrances, for a total of 12 entrances matching the number of tunnel tokens. (I also found a tile with 2 tunnel entrances in A&M.) If you add more tunnel tokens, should we also be scaling the number of tunnel tiles, or is it a case of first-come-first-served?

Adding Wheel of Fortune or a second base game might be nicer in a 10+ player game, especially if a few of the players are new. In that case I wouldn't play with the wheel, just the tiles.

To connect the discussion of tile scaling back to the earlier discussion about cloister scaling, I think it might be helpful to have a list of cloisters added per expansion:
+1 cloister = River, I&C, T&B, Tower, GQ11, A&M, Catapult, BC&B, Festival, Halflings 1
+2 cloisters = P&D, H&S
+4 cloisters = Goldmines
+5 cloisters = Spielbox Cult
+6 cloisters = RGG Cult, German Monasteries, Dutch/Belgian Monasteries
+7 cloisters = CK&C (1 from King, 1 from River 2, and 5 from Cult), Wheel of Fortune

The conclusion I draw from this investigation is that both WoF and large expansions are suitable for increasing the tiles-to-players ratio while maintaining the cloisters-to-tiles ratio. Minis which are not on the list above (the numbered minis, windroses, crop circles, plague, cathars, besiegers, tunnel) add zero cloister tiles, so you should add them after reaching the minimum number of tiles, or they need to be added together with an expansion that has a high cloister-to-tile ratio such as Goldmines, one of the separate cult expansions, or one of the monastery expansions.

The "smallest" large expansion has 12 tiles, so I think Fritz is right about a 1:12 cloister-to-tile ratio. You would probably need to add most or all of the zero-cloister expansions to be able to justify adding a 6-tile monastery expansion without removing cloisters to maintain the balance.

I've just put a bug in Kalinda's ear to see if we can get an English/Scottish castles expansion.
