Title: 999 Games makes sneaky 'announcement' for expansions
Post by: Willem on June 09, 2017, 02:41:48 AM
999 Games have made a page on their website regarding the differences between the old art and new art game. It explains what expansions have been produced in the new artwork, and what it means if you want to combine it with the old artwork (like the 6the player colour switch from grey to pink).
Later on they mention the other big expansions that havent been released in the new artwork, Castles, Bridges&Bazaars, The Catapult and Hills and Sheep.
They state that all of these are in development, and shall be released later this year.
Does this mean HiG will remake The Catapult?

The rule for the wagon has been changed.
And in the expansions started with the 3rd - there are the game play with other expansions - that wasn't in the classical edition. That means many of the FAQ (the footnotes in the CAR) are a part of the official rules now.

Also the rule for the Abbot figure changed a bit.
-------------------------
The classical edition has been finished with the mini expansion "The Labyrinth".

I was on the impression that Under the Big Top would replace the Catapult.

Me to, at least i think ive heard/read a Q&A where HiG state that the Catapult wont get a reprint. Thats why this stands out to me.
999 Games made this page to state the differences between the old and new art, even though they dont have all the differences on the page (like the wagon as kettlefish stated). So its might be just a throwaway line, but maybe they know something we dont...

Also there's been a terminology/category overhaul for the figures. Not just changing the words, but actually changing the "taxonomy" (definitional structure) of the various figures. Unfortunately it's not entirely clear or consistent. I'm still re-reading all the new rulebooks (painful) to understand the new taxonomy.

I wouldn't be surprised if this was the case. Nobody tells us anything anymore. :'(

:D I've sold over 50 Carcassonne base games, expansions and spin-offs and I still can't see the bottom of my collection! (Just had to!)
