In another thread (http://www.carcassonnecentral.com/community/index.php?topic=3089.msg45843#msg45843) I mentioned a new blog called Board Game Components (https://boardgamecomponents.wordpress.com) and how the first game featured was Carcassonne: Winter Edition (https://boardgamecomponents.wordpress.com/2017/01/09/carcassonne-winter/).
The people behind the blog, Markus and Sandra, have secured an interview with Klaus-Jürgen Wrede about Carcassonne components. I talked with them about it and we all thought it would be fun to create a thread where people can post their questions for KJW (about components only, please, otherwise it might get out of control!). Markus and Sandra will pick out the questions they like for their interview.
I'll start with a question of my own, since we've been voting on this question (http://www.carcassonnecentral.com/community/index.php?topic=3090.0) this week:
What's your favourite piece of wood from Carcassonne and its expansions?
-
Do you have a favourite Carcassonne tile?
-
I am tempted to ask if he prefers the old art over the new, but I realize he will not be able to answer that.
What does he think about the Halflings, German Castles, and any future components that differ from the traditional square tile?
-
Another one from me:
Have you ever considered publishing an edition of Carcassonne in a wooden box like the first edition of Carcassonne: the City?
-
Another one:
How much personal input did you have over the look of the new edition of Carcassonne? Were there certain things in particular that you wanted to be included in the designs?

I like this question more then the wooden box question. Gives us a nice insight.

Is the shape of the builder your design? What is it meant to look like?
BTW I like the shape as it has always intrigued me.
