Title: Anyone going to Germany soon?
Post by: Guy on August 28, 2014, 05:26:58 AM
Hello,

I am looking for cheap ways to expand my collection and came across this:

http://shop.mueller.de/spielwaren/spielwelten/carcassone/schmidt-spiele-muller-exklusiv-carcassonne-set-in-metalldose-333197

Unfortunately they don't ship to the UK, only to their stores.  I was wondering if there was someone in Germany/Switzerland who I could transfer the money (inc shipping) to buy this for me?

I know it's a long shot but everyone here is so friendly i thought I'd give it a shot!

Thanks,

Guy

I followed the link by curiousity. The page says this only has the base game content and the exclusive metallic box.

From what I read on boardgamegeek.com there was a version that had Count, King and Robber as well as a 6 tiles version of Die Belagerer.

Update: I just zoomed in on the image posted there, it does say it includes what I mentioned. This is a bit confusing. One best ask first before ordering.

I live in Switzerland so I could possibly help, but the nearest Mueller store appears to be about an hour away in Montreux (I'm in Geneva). Plus everything will cost more for you if Switzerland, rather than Germany, is the middleman, so hopefully someone in Germany can do it for you.

Hmm, all that for 20 euros is a pretty good deal! I have King, Count and Robber (and the base game, obviously), and I'm not interested in the box, but I would really like the Besiegers. Maybe we can make a deal involving people who want various parts :)

Just sent an email to confirm the contents, hopefully there'll be an answer soon as it would be a great deal to get those 3 sets for nearly as much as just one expansion.

Depending on the shipping cost, I'd be interested in this as well. Germany has pretty low shipping as far as I can tell. Ordered LEGO parts from there before.
Worth noting shipping from Germany to Sweden is CHEAPER than shipping from Sweden to Sweden.  :o

Maybe this helps:

Use search (Schnellsuche) with "Carcassonne"
They ship to UK. Here you find the costs

Thanks for that. So it looks like I would need to pay almost as much in shipping as for the product itself even though there are Mueller stores in Switzerland.

I am only just now catching up with the whole Belagerer story. So there was supposed to be a limit of 1000 of these sold exclusively through Mueller. Has it been constantly offered there since it first came out or has it just now reappeared?

I went through the old thread where it was suggested that Die Belagerer might end up on Cundco a year after it was originally released. Does anyone have an update on that (kettlefish?  :green-meeple:)?

The Müller-Box:

first print: 1000
second print: 4000

---------------------
The Belagerer:

If this mini expansion will come online at CundCo... perhaps in October 2014 at the Spiel in Essen...
We will see...

Thanks kettlefish! In that case I think I'll wait until October and see what happens...

Thanks for all the information - due to the difficulty in buying and shipping the product, (which still at this moment may or may not have the besiegers and Count, King and Robber), I too shall wait until October to see what may turn up on Cundco.

Thank you everyone for your assistance.

For those who are still interested I
have had a response from Mueller who say that the edition on sale in
the link above does include Count, King, and Robber as well as The
Besiegers. It's still a great deal so if there is someone who's willing
to buy and ship I reckon there would be a good response from the guys
here.

What a coincidence !! :)

Me too have been looking at that metal box with belagerer.. :) From that set I would be interested in the box itself and the belagerer tiles.. the rest is ok too as X-mas presents for friends and family who doesn't own the game or expansions yet.. :)

But how to get it to Finland??? :( Hmmz.. and for how much is the shipping to Finland from Germany? anyone know how much it weights? :)

From the link that KlausiMausi provided a few posts up, shipping is 20.90 euros to Finland for a purchase of less than 40 euros.

While I'm here, can anyone who already has this box tell us if the part on the front of the box saying that it includes the Besiegers and King, Count and Robber is a sticker, or is it part of the box? (i.e. can it be removed?)

I gave my box away... but what I remember: It is not a sticker - all things are directly printed on the box.

Oh, thank you.. :) Yeah I see the post now.. hmm..  :-\

so, that is like 20 euro for game, and 20 euro for shipping.. Auch.. :( That is more than what I would like to pay...  :'(
yes, it's a lot of stuff, but still too expensive for me..  :-\

Guess I just have to wait for a better deal. :)

Thanks for the information. That's a shame though, because I think this part spoils the box a bit.

Yes, kettlefish is correct. There are no stickers and everything is printed directly onto the box. Personally I quite like it.

If it was a metal box you were after you could always get one of these for 30 Euros (plus shipping):

http://www.cundco.de/shop/?tx_dkdshop%5Bcategory%5D=1&tx_dkdshop%5Bproduct%5D=121

You'll have a spare copy of Traders & Builders (as well as the base game) then too!

*heart-attack*  :o

I have been looking for just a box, but a Carcassonne box ,metal or not, to store my bag with tiles in.. :) My tile bag won't  fit into the base box when all the small wood pieces are there and rules and stuff.. But 30 euro plus shipping is TOOOO much for my budget..  Ouch.... :(

Guess I just gotta keep looking..  ^-^

Actually the only thing I'm really after from that box is the Besiegers; I was just curious about the non-sticker.

I don't have a good storage solution (I currently have everything in tuck boxes, with the tower, in the original base game box, but Hills and Sheep doesn't fit so I'm out of room), but I prefer a wooden box to a metal one if possible.

There's enough threads around here extolling the virtues of plastic storage solutions (I love my Artbin case!), so I won't say anything more on that subject.

I would urge anybody who is longing for the Besiegers expansion and doesn't care about the metal tin to hold on to their money, at least until Essen 2014. The last package I received from Germany contained a copy of this expansion, so I'm feeling optimistic that it will become available later this year when Mueller's 1-year exclusivity deal ends.

But I don't want a plastic normal looking container to hold my tile bag.. :( That is the whole point.. :) That is has to be a real Carcassonne box. =^_^=

What is Essen 2014 and when is it? :)

Oooh... so it's sort of like Assembly but with board games that you can buy? :) Coool!!!  :D
But sad that it's only in Germany.. :/ We need something like that in Finland!! :)
