Here's a comparison between all kinds of standard meeples, with pictures (updated May 8, 2021).

Most meeples on the pictures are originals from Cundco, except the phantoms from Ebay, and some teachers with special colors that came from spielmaterial.

Some sets do not have a regular size, that's why they have a min-max range (see the travel edition for example, 1mm difference though the meeples came from the same box)  :o

The phantoms from Ebay do not all have the same thickness (some are thinner), but strangely, every colors that are also available on Meeplesource have the same thickness. They do probably come from the same manufacturer, or even the core Ebay set originally comes from Meeplesource.
Also, original phantoms have very sharp edges, those from Ebay have more smooth rounded edges.

Sadly, there's no nature (light brown) phantom, if anyone knows where to get one?  ???

And here's a comparison including mini phantoms from Meeplesource :

I woud just like to add to corithiens13's post above, what I added to the topic where the picture was first posted:
The differences between Phantom and 10th anniversary transparent meeples are purely stochastic and are not consistent, even within the same batch. So they are not to  be considered different variations  :red-meeple:.

First post updated with new meeple types (travel edition, demo spiel)  :yellow-meeple:

It's strange to see how the standard wooden meeples were always the exact same size from 2001 to 2021, but none of the mini meeples have the same size (C42, travel edition, demo spiel)  :o

And if you think this comparison is useless... Well... Me too  ;D
But it was fun to align all those meeples together, with no social distancing and without face mask ! :yellow-meeple:

+1 merit for this continuous work!

The small differences in size between meeple sets is maddening!

On the contrary, I find this comparison perfectly useful and very refreshing, even though eventually little "geeky" to some (not me, I actually love it and so a merit for this job!)  :D
We had today a discussion over a family game of Carcasonne für zwei boosted by Demo-Spiel and a point was raised that since there are no expansions in tiles of a proper size available, if could be at least possible to enhance this travel set by "phantoms". However, it seems that there are no translucent minimeeples available. Or are they?

To enhance the game we use:
  • Standard meeples from the basegame, used as big meeples from exp 2
  • Fir tree and santa meeples, on the scoreboard, played as a the Saint Nicholas scoreboard
  • I'm looking for any kind of small meeple to use as an abbot
  • King and robber tokens, giving +3 (C42 only) or +5 (C42 with demo spiel) points for biggest road and biggest city

Thanks for the merit  :yellow-meeple:

Oh, and here's a set of mini phantoms:
https://www.meeplesource.com/proddetail.php?prod=AcrylicMiniMeepleSampler

I'm ordering them right now! I might have to do the whole comparison again, including those minis  :yellow-meeple:

And meeplesource have regular mini meeples too - lots of colours ... but from images don't look as though they always match the standard colours.
AutumnForest (C2), Catch Of The Day (C1/2/WD), Cliffs&W'falls (C1/2), Coast (C1/2), FishHuts (C2), Fluvium (C2), NewForest (C2), Harvest (C1/2), Stone Circles (C1/2), Wells (C2), Jordan River 2 (AotC), River I/II (GR)
Devt: Sakura (C2), WinterEdge (C1), WinterCoast (WD/WE) and others

Well, I have no need for Meeplesource mini or standard wooden meeples, so I won't buy them only to make the comparison.

If anyone owns them, here could be the place to post a comparison picture  :yellow-meeple:

I got hold of some mini meeples from BG Extras, and based on the images used for them on the site, they're the ones from Meeplesource. I got a few colours, but here are three of them, side-by-side, with standard game meeples. Although I knew their dimensions (12mm tall, 12mm wide, and 7mm thick), they still seem smaller than I expected. And the blue is much closer to the original than the image on the site, where they look much lighter.

I also got the orange, purple and black mini-meeples as part of the order, to give me six sets. They only had 2 yellow available, otherwise I'd have probably got the standard five colours.

Added a comparison including mini phantoms from Meeplesource to the 1st post.

They're smaller than any other meeples, but great to play wit c42, demo version or travel edition  :yellow-meeple:
