Doubts when the rules are not specific...
« on: December 21, 2015, 04:54:28 AM »
Hello!
We are a couple with a desesparete question!
When you play the extensions "Catapult" and "The mayor"
Using the chip of the catapult, the one that you can switch the "men", can you switch a mayor for a normal man or for another mayor? and, the most important, if that city is already connected with more "men", can you switch it for the mayor?

Hello and welcome to the forums!
Rules don't specify exact follower type to be used, so any type of follower (standard follower, big follower, mayor, wagon, phantom) can be exchanged using Seduction token.

A good doubt to have! Personally, we love the pieces but not so much the mechanic. Not sure about iolyandthor though. Maybe new players wanting to try out the major expansions?

Welcome to the forum iolyandthor! As Mr Numbers has said, the answer to both your questions is yes. The seduction chips can be very powerful!

Personally I quite like the catapult, though that is a rather unpopular opinion! It is clearly not as strategic as other expansions but it adds a bit of fun and randomness which I enjoy :green-meeple:

Hello to everyone! thank you for the welcome!

We start to play Carcassonne not long time ago, and how dipper we go in it, we get more freaks...hehehehhe!

And yes,The catapalut can be enoying sometimes! but its true, it make it more random.. anyway, we have not so many extensions to play with yet...

Actually, we have another doupt about it:
- Can you aim to a farm?( with the "seduction" or the "cake battlle" chip ) because is not a follower....

# sorry if I don't use the right words sometimes, but our instructions are in Spanish and I don't know how to say it in english... #

Do you speak of a farmer or of the barn?
You may aim at the farmer, he is a follower.
You may not aim at the barn (from 5. expansion I think), the barn is no follower.

hello again! i hope all you have had a good "new year's eve -HANGOVER recuperation!" ;) ;) ;)

I have another doubt, maybe it is obvious but we are not complitly sure:

With the abbey tile, Are you force to play it if you can? I mean, if , for exemple, the abbey tile is your last move and using it means to give benefit to someone else ( that you don't want ), is not need, right?

have a good year!

You are not forced to use it.

This also goes for Castles, Houses, Bridges etc.

By the end of the game they will be disregarded during final scoring.
World record holder for a single game of Carcassonne using 10 007 tiles!
