+1 for this :)  You caved in !!

I did. I don't feel good about it. That chattering part of me finally won. And, moments later, I learn there's no grey abbot! How will I complete my collection?

It's nice to have abbots in the other colours though. Plus I got the extras from Cundco :D
Look to the north. Keep looking. There's nothing coming from the south.

Nice haul Decar. I'm excited for the cacao expansion, but holding off on a UK release for now!

Recently my copy of the German Monastries came along with a white set of meeples and my first abbot! Yay for the postman.

I forgot to order the Cacao expansion in the end. I'd also prefer a non-German version, so I guess I'll wait a bit too.

Thanks guys, actually the box says: contains English rules. With a little union jack next to it. So i guess they're realising they can sell to more people if they include both sets of rules.  I had a german base game, and the rule are simple enough to follow.

Two packages arrived in two days. The first one came from my brother ; after the wood barrels for T&B, he made for me wheat. I asked him to do two sets, in anticipation of future exchanges (like Dan's spare gives away ! ;)

The second one came from Cundco. I bought "German Cathedrals", "Windroses", "Spielbox Halb so wild I", "Labyrinth tiles" with the magazine (but I'm not german speaker !), a white set of meeples to play at 7, an Abbey tile to complete and a few others spare. Cundco forget to put in the package the big bag. I emailed them this morning to tell us my problem.

Got a package from CundCo today, too.
German Cathedrals, the Spiel doch magazine and some additions in pink and purple, as well as some bridges and so on for up to 8 players, according to the last Big Box.

I love the postman … but I hate import fees.

Those who follow the Kickstarter thread may have seen that I have posted about the game Colosseum a few times, which is being reprinted by Tasty Minstrel Games and is on KS right now. The original Days of Wonder edition is much loved but out of print. Though the TMG KS has been a success, it seems that most people prefer the DOW edition. For example, a few months ago, TMG showed the picture of the cover art which was almost universally panned as being cartoonish and terrible. Instead of changing it after this reaction, they included a box sleeve in the KS to cover it up (KS exclusive!!).

I backed the KS at $80 including shipping, but just for fun I started looking around to see if I could find the DOW edition. And I found an excellent condition French version at Ludikbazar for just €25 (€37 including shipping), which was a steal compared with the other prices that are out there (on the BGG marketplace, for example). So I dropped my KS pledge and today the DOW version arrived. So I was super happy, except it seems that the Swiss border control also thought the price was too good to be true. Although the value of the package was marked at €20, they decided to change that to €80 so they could charge me CHF38 (about €35) in fees, more than the price of the product! So now I have to make annoying phone calls in French trying to get my money back.

In summary, I'm very happy to have received the game but very annoyed at the fees.

Feeling your pain! :( Paying extortionate import duty (or disproportionate post office "handling fees" for doing literally nothing) is one of my pet hates...

@jungleboy - this sounds as bad as the time a postman (from DHL) decided to cross out my postcode and write another one on it.  Obviously they knew better the intended address for posting Carcassonne: Tunnels, as opposed to the one i supplied  :(y)

No, it's just like restaurants - you never complain until the end in case they spit in your food!
