Official Rules / Re: Castle scoring with mayors
« on: January 05, 2021, 04:04:04 AM »
A couple of images illustrating how the chin reaction is broken by the third castle from the left. The arrows indicate the feature(s) the castle may score the points for.

Example 1: the fief of the third castle does not overlap the second, so it cannot spread the chain reaction.
Example 2: the fief of the third castle does not overlap the second and it is already completed, so it cannot spread the chain reaction either.
I did't look to image seriously and I didn't figure that castle is rurned at 90°.

Well.
1st example:Every castle will scores 6 points for road
2nd example:Snake of 1st castle and Spider (if I see correct) on 2nd castle will scores 6 points - here chain stopeed, because 3rd castle is not occupied - it's allready consider as finished

Finaly stored, two different answers made during writing my comment ;-)

I read it that two castles share some adjaced tiles.
Look it as chain. One scores, second scores, third scores,...

Here's mine  ;D

Ha ha, perfect  :D

It's a bit too big to be placed on a tile though  ???

I did also make cookies with my meeple cookie cutter for Christmas  :neutral-meeple:
Maybe @Decar has extra tiles 100cm/100cm size ;-)

Official Rules / Re: Wikicarpedia - The City Gates (1st edition)
« on: January 04, 2021, 08:06:59 AM »
A wagon can always be used in a city, in a cloister and on a road, but not on a farm.
In the first edition after scoring a wagon can only move from a city, cloister or road to an adjacent city, cloister or road. It cannot drive throug a field.
If you placed a wagon on a city with city gates and the city was scored, you can move the wagon to an adjacent road, if there is a road at the edge of the city gate, or to an adjacent city, if there is a city with city gate at the edge with the city gate (so there are two edges with city gates directly connected) - but the wagon may not drive through the city gate, if there is a farm behind it.
There is a different rule for the moving of the wagon in the second edition ... I think, he can fly.

For the 2nd edition, a wagon can move to any unoccupied and incomplete feature (except fields) on any of the 8 adjacent tiles and on his tile itself.

So the city gates do not change anything. A city gate itself isn't a feature, the wagon can not be placed on the city gate itself (no meeple can).
But if a wagon is on a city with citygates that has just been completed, it can move on any adjacent tile (the same as if there was no city gate).

Again, this is fore the 2nd edition rules. For the first, like Fritz_Spinne said, if a wagon is on a city with a city gate, it may drive through the gate to go on a road or city that is directly connected, but it can't stop on the gate itself, it can't go on en empty space, and it can't go on a field.

Hope this helps  ;)

Anyway I like more C1 rules, which is more "real", but C2 rules are better for earning points ;-)

Is there any thread you found with this issue? The sooner we can patch it, the better.
It was sometinhg split from Advent. But as wrote decar, sometimes it is mentioned in original thread, sometimes in new thread. Both is best ;-)

Maybe it will be some collectible version of Carcassonne, like Gold/Leather book version years ago.
I have one collectible bible with very nice pictures in big format (larger than A4 / Letter).
Event it is protestant bible, and it was very educative for me (to see differences). I have some interesting books in bookshelf with different point of view of everything ;-) But those collectible  Carcassonne "Book" is obviously missing ;-)

Sometimes happends that in topic is comments out of main theme.
Than is usually those comments split to separate new topic.
And here is problem, sometimes is missing link to original topic which can be useful to understand discusion started in middle of other topic.
This is just hint for moderators ;-D

Here in Italy we're still waiting for the C2 versions of exp. 5 and 8. If HiG released a new C3 edition it would be beyond ridiculous.

As I wrote before about Devir, in eshop of italian publisher Giochi Uniti, there is still Expansion 8 in C1 available. Expansion 5 in C1 not, so maybe they will publish C2 version this year.
Giochi Uniti has already a history of late localization for expansions. They once had so many leftover copies of the wooden edition of Catan Cities and Knights that only recently they managed to get rid of and now they are finally offering the new plastic edition. All other expansions were offered in the new edition since years. The same is happening with Carc expansions, apparently.
It's problem of only one language edition of games.
But sometimes it helps if somebody are looking for brand new old game where game material is language independent (like carcassonne).
Good example are still available minis C1 expansions on Slovak page (Mini 1-2) or Finland page (Mini 1-6)

It is good also to mention that Inn do not stack. So road with two ins has same points as road with one.

Same for Expansion 1. Cathedrals.

Here in Spain didn’t released exp 10 in C2 style by Devir... But you can buy exp 5 and 8 on cundco... Rules you can always translate on internet... Not a big deal...

Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

We (in Spain) are also missing expansion 6  :-\

I also hope that they don't move to a newer design (CIII).
It is funny, because in Czeck rep. And Slovakia some of large C2 expansions was released again because they free sold out.
Maybe Devir has still on stock this expansion in C1. who knows :)
