Wainwrights quarter is overpowered  ;D ;D ;D I thought that case only applied when you had two meeples.  :P

Thanks for the info Meepledrone!

In Q12

Quote
* The Wainwrights quarter bonus, since Red can score the bonus right away in the same turn he sends a meeple to Wainwrights quarter in Leipzig. So Red will score 5 points for this bonus (5 tiles x 1 point per tile).

why?  :'(

hmmm, that is weird, bbimg has never failed me, thanks for letting me know. I was talking about this tile Meepledrone:

I considered this a semicircular segment and this modify my scoring of course.

Thanks for the merits guys! That is a pretty good idea Decar, I had not thought it.  8)

I am using a simple pseudorandom generator and a simple reordering algorithm (Fisher–Yates). Certainly, it is pretty easy to implement in any programming language.

Quizzes, Puzzles and Challenges / Carcassonne Solo Challenger
« on: December 15, 2020, 09:05:08 PM »
Hi all,

Inspired by the challenges posted in BGG by kirkroberts (https://boardgamegeek.com/thread/2458559/carcassonne-solo-challenge-1-july-2020) and the Japanese challenge shared by DrMeeple (http://www.carcassonnecentral.com/community/index.php?topic=4618.msg67937#msg67937), I created a small web app (optimized for big and small screens) to organize challenges in this variant.

https://carliunterik.github.io/carcachallenge/

Each challenge is determined by a unique number. In that way you can share a particular challenge using the URL to challenge other players. Using the share button you can generate a URL like this:

https://carliunterik.github.io/carcachallenge/?s=418766&v=full

I usually play this variant with my copy of Demo-Spiel  :blue-meeple: :red-meeple: (ultra fast solo mode), for that reason, I also included the list of all tiles in this mini-version in this app.

Hope it is useful for some of you. Any feedback is welcomed.

Thanks Carcassonne93!

I really like the theme!  8)

Looks cool, I want to see the rules to see what is new  :red-meeple:

Did you notice that city borders include buildings badly cut? I am wondering how this will affect the alignment with other tiles  ::)

I hope it is only in the promo image and not in the actual tiles.

Only two tiles are quite similar to Scout miniexpansion, Logboat and Shaman; however, they have slightly different rules.

The other three are quite new:
- Hunting trap (score and "remove" animals on the 8 surrounding tiles)
- Pit trap (double value of each animal on the 8 surrounding tiles at the end of the game)
- Raft (at the end lakes score 1 point in addition to the fish found in that river)

Here is the manual:

Thanks for the tip Meepledrone! I will check the Slack channel to see if Davari knows something about this edition.

I really liked it, it is very well done, and I loved the way they put the initial "ک" as tile logo, same as the Cyliric versions of the game.

General / Iranian version of Carcassonne (Kados or کادوس)
« on: September 15, 2020, 10:13:51 AM »
Hi all,

Looking for some Carcassonne content, I found a version apparently distributed only in Iran. In the same way that current version of Carcassonne sold in Arabic peninsula, they changed a little bit the name of some components (clusters and abbot). In this version the changes are not only restricted to names, the entire art (logo, box, tiles, even back of the tiles) is totally different.

Check this blog to see what I am talking about:
http://mrgamers.ir/1398/02/18/%DA%A9%D8%A7%D8%AF%D9%88%D8%B3-%D9%BE%D8%B1%D9%81%D8%B1%D9%88%D8%B4-%D8%AA%D8%B1%DB%8C%D9%86-%D8%A8%D8%A7%D8%B2%DB%8C-%D8%B1%D9%88%D9%85%DB%8C%D8%B2%DB%8C/

When I saw it, I thought that it was (or is) a fan-made version, like Legend of Zelda or Super Mario Bros fan-editions. However, I found it was distributed and sold widely in plenty of websites, some of them dedicated to sell board games in Iran. That makes me think that it is not just a fan print and play.

I am pretty sure this edition is not related with HiG (no logo is found in any box) in any way (licensed, approved, or partnered); nevertheless, they, in some descriptions, mention HiG as the original publisher and  Klaus-Jürgen Wrede as designer.

I searched about this company, but their website is dead (https://web.archive.org/web/20140730194758/http://www.kadousgame.com:80/) and the Facebook profile is not active since 2014 (https://www.facebook.com/kadousgame). Its release was recent, for that maybe some copies are out there.

If someone knows something else about this project, I would be happy to read more about.

Best
