Being Dutch/Canadian I had to back this little game from Canada about a city in the Netherlands: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1812622835/town-builder-coevorden

The publisher is from Vancouver and I noticed this little snippet on Wikipedia about Coevorden: "The city of Coevorden may have indirectly given its name to the city of Vancouver, which is named after the 18th-century British explorer George Vancouver. The explorer's ancestors (and family name) may have originally come to England "from Coevorden" (van Coevorden > Vancoevorden > Vancouver).[5] There is also a family of nobility with the surname van Coeverden, sometimes spelled with a K (as with Canadian kayaker Adam van Koeverden)."

Jéré's suggestion is getting my vote!

Another option is to be mad at yellow for this vicious attempt to steal the road... and rage quit by flipping the table...

Don't give Dan too many ideas!

That's a great suggestion, ...

A great suggestion indeed. Especially as there doesn't seem to be a drink on the table this time that could be the victim of the tableflip!  8)

Nice! That's a good looking colorful game. Enjoy!

I think I would go for the cloister and give green the 1 point as suggested by Dan. It also creates a potentially bigger field for farming (that's the early-farmer in me speaking again) which we might want to keep an eye on.

By far most of my Carcassonne games have been one-on-one games and mostly against the same opponent. In that regard we've always been a fan of an early farmer (option 2) and an aggressive play style (option 3). However, I'm not sure due to the lack of experience in 4 player games if that's a good approach. I'd be content with option 1 and 4 as well. They are equally good.

@Willem @danisthirty Nice! That giant scoreboard looks fantastic! My package has been sitting at Schiphol customs for 10 days now... Can't wait for it to get cleared...

(I also ordered 2 sets of 8 shot glasses. The only thing missing are some bigger than normal tunnel tokens...)

Talking about "epic" games, there's 4 days left to back Tiny Epic Mechs: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/coe/tiny-epic-mechs-mechanized-entertainment-combat-he

It would be nice if the last stretch goal (colored mechs) gets unlocked...

what's the alhambra article about?

and is there a promo for saboteur:duel or just a big advert?

My German is quite bad (even though I'm Dutch) but the article is named "The story of The Palace of Alhambra".

There's a trial game of Saboteur: Das Duel included.

Isn't there a 'SD' watermark on the labyrinth tiles to? I'll check when I get home, but seem to remember those having that to

Yes, there are apparently... (I never noticed that though...)

Carcassonne expansion
German: "Die beiliegenden zwei Plattchen fur Carcassonne konnen zusammen als alternatives Startplattchen verwendet werden."
English: "The enclosed two plates for Carcassonne can be used together as an alternative startplate."

At least the rules are nice and simple, and I like that there would be two city segments available from the start so that the first player to draw a city cap doesn't automatically get a 4-point bonus. Or at least if they do, there is still a chance for the second player to do the same.

Is that watermark printed on the tile or on the sellophane wrap? If that's on the tile it could be the ugliest and most out of place watermark yet... >:(

The "watermark" is on the tiles themselves. One has "SPIEL" the other has "DOCH!" with some additional scribbling in a font too small for me to read now... (*sigh*... I'm getting old I guess.) In addition, there is also a more actual watermark on the tiles showing "SD".

so?
any new rules for the 2 carcassonne tiles?

Carcassonne expansion
German: "Die beiliegenden zwei Plattchen fur Carcassonne konnen zusammen als alternatives Startplattchen verwendet werden."
English: "The enclosed two plates for Carcassonne can be used together as an alternative startplate."

Carcassonne: Safari expansion
German: "Die beiliegenden zwei Plattchen fur Carcassonne - Safari werden einfach untergemischt. Auf jedem sind zwei verschiedene Tierarten zu sehen."
English: The enclosed two plates for Carcassonne - Safari are simply mixed in. Each one shows two different species of animals.""

It's been a good month so far! (I'm keeping the postman busy these days...) Now I need to get Carcassonne: Safari so I can play with the expansion. (Come to think of it, this might be the first time I got an expansion before being able to get the game!  ;D)
