My winter edition crop circles arrived today, just in time for a game this afternoon...

I can't wait until the spoiler removed when the brettspiel advent calendar finally confirms the name of this expansion because they're not crop circles as there's only grass underneath. A more accurate name would be the melted snow expansion...

You can order abbots in the alternative colours from cundco but not in the colours which you can already get the Abbot by buying Carc 2.0 or Inns and cathedrals 2.0.

Hi Guy,

Just an idea, but since it's a tribute more than anything, do you think it would be acceptable to use phantoms rather than teachers? They're somewhat easier to get hold of!

Thanks Dan, it's a good idea and I will do that as a last resort, (the year doesn't end until July so there is plenty of time), but as she is a Carc fan it would be so much better for her to have teacher meeple rather than phantoms.

Hello everyone,


Some of you may have seen me post before searching for a copy of the Purple & Black Teacher Meeples from The School expansion.  Although it has been viewed many times I am yet to find any resource to help me on my quest so I thought I'd share my motivation for this quest in the hope that someone might be able to assist me.


My wife has been working as a teacher at the same school for her entire career and is known there to be a big Carcassonne fan.  This summer she is leaving that school as we move for my job.  As a tribute to her time there I was hoping to get her a copy of The School expansion in her school colours and ask the staff there to sign the tiles so that she'd always have a nice memento of her time there which she could be reminded of when we play Carcassonne.  Here's the kicker - her school colours are black & purple...


I would be eternally grateful if anyone could help and if anyone who can speak German might post this on Carcassonne-forum.de to see if they can help too.  I understand that this is a big ask but this community has been so supportive before so I thought I would ask.  I am happy to reimburse any costs and will donate a copy of 'The Tunnel' expansion to the community as a prize for the next tournament.

Great report from both of you. As a fellow Brit my heart is saddened by the result but at the same time don't let that diminish my congratulations to Merlin on what was a resounding victory - well done! You both certainly have plenty of skill it's a shame someone had to lose!

Before this gets out of hand - i would categorically like to say that Dan has done a bang up job organising various competitions and i trust him to do so without prejudice.  He is very trust worthy and him getting to the final is actually a measure of his immense skill at the Carcassonne table and nothing else.  I wish i had his skill and i hope to try to at least match his level of skill at the UK champs this year.

Please don't lets put into question his honour as all that will do is make it difficult for him to give it his all in the final which his opponent deserves.

+1 from me too.  Best of luck in the final Dan and Merlin - may the best man win.

surely its a fix!! the organiser is in the final!

I'm not aware of any ties that Danisthirty has with FIFA but with the quality of the expansions he gives away as prizes, the size of his collection, and now him as a finalist in the World Cup I am becoming more suspicious that he may have picked up some of their underhand competitive methods...

It's been nearly a month since the last move.  With Christmas holidays coming up I think now would be a good time to revive this game!  I understand that the World Cup and the Ladder have taken up people's time but those are drawing to a close.  Let's see if we can complete this game!

I'm sure the cathedral tiles will look beautiful but I wonder if it will be in the new art and also what size the tile may be? The game mechanic, that could be anything. My guess is that it increases the value of followers in surrounding tiles I.e. A big follower is worth 3 when adjacent to a German cathedral.

It's a nice budget alternative to the Basically Wooden boxes. The problem is that if you have a complete set, it won't all fit. It holds about 250 tiles, whereas the Basically Wooden large boxes hold about 700 if I remember correctly.

I agree jungleboy.  Not only does it not hold enough for all expansions - which I understand is not a priority for all people - it doesn't allow for dividers so you can identify your expansions.  That in itself would probably take up the space for a few tiles.

Maybe a good option to hold all of the spin offs - but then again those city walls take up a lot of space...
