The Drawbridges will be release for the Advent Campaign, but some online stores are already listing it for 5.90€ and higher (pre-order only or course)

This mini-expansion contains a new type of tile, where the time of scoring is crucial. If the drawbridge is down, the meeple can move from the road to the city to score extra points.

How does the drawbidge position change? We don't know yet, if this actually happens.

the word "IF" is written there... the word could mean that there could be tokens for it:
1.) Drawbridge lowered down
from the other side
2.) Drawbridge lifted up

My guess is that any city with 2 or more knights has a raised drawbridge.

So, you can place this tile on an opponent’s city and then the race is on for them to try to add another knight before you complete the road. Also if you succeed in entering, any other drawbridges are then raised.

Regardless this looks like fun. I will have to try to figure out to play it with only C1 tiles…

HiG/Cundco offer some new stuff and some special deals during the Advent Campaign, that runs from November 21st up to December 17th.

If you didn't get it at Speil Essen, you will be able to get your copy of the Spiel'23 tile, for example.

For this campaign they will release nw stauff: The Drawbridges and a Mini Bundle including The Markets of Leipzig C3, German Monasteries C3, Grman Cathedrals C3 and The Tollkepers C3.

They will also sell an Advent Package. It includes a box with the CutCassonne C2.0 tiles printed at the bottom. We don't know its contents yet, but the include normally meeple sets, some minis, candles and simila stuff. It changes from year to year.

They will also be selling the 20th Anniversary Edition + 3 major expasions of your choice for a special price...

So get ready if you are interested in any of this.

Thank you. I have literally everything Cundco offers about Carcassonne (except for the new misprinted Expansion 11 add-on) so I'm afraid I won't get to 20€ unless The Drawbridges will cost more than 16€ (and I hope they will not)

After reading the preliminary Drawbridges page on WikiCarPedia, we are already hooked on the expansion. But we have one question.

The last sentence in 3. Scoring a feature says: “If more than one player has the majority on the road, no player can move their meeple to the city.”

What happens when the tile I place completes a road where another player has the majority? The rest of the page keeps talking about how “you” can cross the bridge. Does completing another player’s road rob that player from thelr ability to cross the bridge? Possibly protecting my city!

There is an ongoing discussion with HiG about the rules. From the text, one cannot know for certain if moving meeples from roads to cities is only allowed to (a) the player completing the road (only if the player has or shares the majority), or to (b) any player with the majority in the road no matter who completed the road (there may be several players sharing the majority including the player who completed the road or not), or to (c) only one player if he or she has the majority alone no matter who completed the road (this last case due to the odd last sentence in section 3. Score points).

This odd sentence is the same you mentioned. It was originally written like this:

Quote

If no one has the majority on the road, no player can move their meeple to the city.

But it seems that after a quick exchange last Friday, it what they meant was:

Quote

If no single player has majority, no player can move their meeple to the city.

The original sentence is written from the point of view that no player has the majority if several players share the majority... But I sent them some German and English excerpts from Exp. 2 stating that all the players sharing the majority do have the majority.

Changing this detail requires HiG to rephrase quite a few spots in existing rulebooks, since this little nuance clashes with a lot of mechanics... I'm waiting for their reply

So, for the time being, it seems that only one player may have the majority to be able to move their meeples on a road to a city.

HiG still have to clarify if any player with the majority can move meeples or only the player completing the road (if they have the majority).

Let's see if they send a clarification on Monday.

I'm also impatient to try this mechanic and see its effect on the gameplay... A new opportunity for those loving conflict and cutthroat games!
