The date of the Dutch National Championship has been announced: It will be again at Zuiderspel fair in Veldhoven (suburb of Eindhoven) on Sunday March 19th.

Cool! I'm probably coming to look, together with my friends. We live near Eindhoven

I could'nt get them so far as to join the competition, nor my husband. But they are probably right: watching is enough for the first time coming to such an event

I'm also quite close (20 min by train).

I think you should participate, and perhaps convince your friends too! There is a competitive aspect of course but you are guaranteed to play 3 games against 3 other players, so during the games you will chat and meet people. More fun than watching from a distance!

Very happy with my results. 1st, 1st and 2nd.
Game I finished 2nd has been won by former World Champion Els Bulten so nothing to be ashamed of! I will know shortly if that's enough to qualify for knock-out stage. Fingers crossed!

After preliminary round, I was 4th overall, out of 117 participants. Not bad!

Top 8 players qulified for knock-out stage.

I lost in the final against Els Bulten, former World Champion and 3rd time Dutch Champion.

2nd in the Netherlands I think it's really good. I'M HAPPY!

...and before someone says that I could have represented more than one country... The answer is no, no and no. That's impossible.

Netherlands will send 2 players to Essen, 1st and 3rd as a backup. If I would have won, it would have been 2nd and 3rd.

I got Carcassonne Amazonas as a prize plus a little trophy and a certificate.

Yes, of course, my hotel is already booked in Paris. It will be June 25th.

Next weeked I go to Lille even if I don't have to (already qualified). I go there for the same reason I went to the Dutch Championship today: "just for fun"
