I have a few days thinking about an idea, and now that the league is over I would like to share with you.

I know there are several open competitions and the difficulty of playing.

I had thought about the possibility of playing a tournament with unseeded after all the competitions held during the year ( leagues, world cup ... ) A " Masters Cup ".You could use Elo ratings ( JERE ) The achievements of the Order of Meeple or positions achieved in each competition to determine 8 (or any number of players) best players play the tournament.

I thought 8 players because only take us 7 games
(4 for the quarterfinals , 2 for the semifinal and one for the final).

What do you think guys?

Hey jma03!

The way I understand your proposal is that you can't wait for the next competition. I feel the same! However, I think it is best to wait for the next league. It shouldn't be too long.

The format that you propose sounds fun but I find it a bit too exclusive. I think there shouldn't be any restrictions or criteria on who can take part of a competition. Anyboby should have a chance to play. Best players will end up playing each other anyway, in the final games of a league or in the knock-out stage of the World Cup. Besides, there is a Waiting List and we need to include newcomers too.

I think we need to be a little more patient. We'll resume the competition soon!

Nice points Jéré, hard to argue with any of that!

jma03, maybe the World Cup knockout stage is like a Masters Cup in itself as Jéré said.

good arguments Jere, thank you for sharing your opinion.

actually the idea came to me from the "tennis Masters Cup", where after the season leagues and tournaments played ,a final tournament takes place.
it certainly is something exclusive and that was not my intention.

Well I'm certainly no master, but I'm happy to reshuffle and tighten rules on the League - perhaps longer periods between games, but stricter penalties and a cron-job to make sure events fire (I had to do it manually).

Let me know
