What happened with the crosses from the monasteries in C3?

I had to check, as I think that's Carc20 on the right, but the C3 base game monasteries also don't have the crosses anymore. I guess a design change from HiG

Yep. Crosses are gone.

I think this is similar to what we saw in Arabian editions and in the unofficial versions from Iran.

No crosses here and also a couple of new names, Abbots are Lords, and Monasteries are Fief.

I've got the SuperHeatedNeaurons edition of the game, but never opened it. Didn't realise it has different monasteries!

Good eye. I did not notice the change. As Bumsakalaka stated, I would assume for religious neutrality. Much easier to reach a larger fanbase that way.
