Windrosen I & II
« on: April 26, 2021, 07:28:24 AM »
What's the difference between them, and which one is rarer? I have the one that was sold at cundco last year before it was out of stock.

Hi,

Have a look at https://wikicarpedia.com/index.php/Wind_Roses_(1st_edition)

Windroses 1, from HiG (Cundco) have all four coordinates written on the tiles (N, O, S, W).

Windroses 2, from Spielbox, have only two coordinates written on the tiles (N, S).

An expansion released in 2012 and still available at CundCo one year ago can't be a rare one (it may be rare in a few years though) ;)

The Difference betwwen Windroses I & II is the following:
* Windroses I was released by HiG and the tiles feature letters for North (N), South (S), East (O) and West (W) accoring to the German language.
* Windroses II was released by Spielbox the tiles only feature letters for North (N) and South (S) so it is more language neutral, since the letters N and S are okay for German, English and other laguages.

The HiG version is not available anymore but the Spielbox version is still available and along with the spielbox 2013/5 issue for a reduced price both in German edition (€2.00 + shipping) and English edition (€2.50 + shipping).

Here you can find the links to the editions in both languages here:

https://nostheide.de/webshop3/advanced_search_result.php?keywords=2013/5

If you want to order the Windroses II, please check some other issues still available that included other expansions. If interested, you may save some money in shipping costs of you order several issues in one order.

* Little Buildings - Spielbox 2012/5 (German and English editions):

* Halflings I - Spielbox 2014/5 (German and English editions):
* Labyrinth - Spiel Doch! 2016/1 (German edition only with basic rules; tiles also available at Cundco with no rules):

* Spiel Doch! 2018/2 promo (German edition only)

Older expansions such as Cathars, The Plague, Tunnels are not available through this channel anymore. The magazines including them were sold out long ago.

I struggled more to get my hands on Windrosen I, as many people who sold the expansion didn't know which they had and didn't always understand what I meant if I asked which version it was.
Cundco had it available a while back, very limited. I see they still have Windrosen II listed, but out of stock.
Nostheide is indeed a good place to get Windrosen II

I have Windrosen II then, it only has N and S. It was a good change, I speak Spanish and in here O means West (Oeste), and for East it's E (Este).

Thank you!

Por eso la versión de Spielbox nos viene mejor a los hispanoparlantes... W y O se nos hace un poco raro en español, pero N y S funcionan perfectamente.  ;D

I am currently having the same issue. It is especially frustrating when it is listed as just "Windrosen" with no pictures!

Thanks anyways DrMeeple! It is one of the last items on my "to find list".

Now I better let the thread get back on topic (although I think the initial question has been answered).
