The Marketplace / WTB Kornkreise 1

It's the only item missing in my collection.

I have a friend in Germany it can be shipped to.

I would like to print three CRFF tiles, whose roads end at a house inside of the tile. Similar to the ones in Kornkreise I and II, but that end in a little house (like that tile in Expansion 5) instead of a corn field. Old artwork.

Like that tile but the road ends in a house. One with a road coming from east, another from west and another from south.

There aren't many tiles with roads like that, super useful to invade fields. I would like to add these three to the game but I don't have high resolution images to design them, or know the proper size. Could anyone help me please? Thank you.

Could perhaps experiment and make a few more tiles that have roads that end in a house like that, perhaps CCCR or CCRF ones. Or a RRRR tile where all 4 roads end in houses, field is not split anywhere.

What's the difference between them, and which one is rarer? I have the one that was sold at cundco last year before it was out of stock.

Official Rules / Scoring 1 point.
« on: February 02, 2021, 12:52:07 PM »
In the Inns & Cathedrals expansion there is a RCRC tile that has a junction in the middle.

There are small "completed" roads that go from the city segments to the junction.

Is it possible to place a meeple on those roads and score 1 point?

This could be useful in games with the wagon, phantom, teacher, robber or messengers.

Unofficial Rules / Is there any expansion with more dragons?

I will buy things from spielematerial.de and I saw they have different colored dragons for each player. Is there any expansion that uses a dragon for each player?

General / Inns & Cathedrals C1 junction tile.
« on: December 11, 2020, 09:55:52 AM »
I read that the first edition of Inns had a CRCR tile without the tree in the middle of the road, which was added later.

My question is, which versions have this old design? Was it only in the German ones or also Rio Grande's?

Unofficial Rules / Tollkeepers in C1
« on: December 04, 2020, 09:28:51 AM »
So I prefer playing with C1 tiles, and all of the newer C2 exclusive minis such as Watchtowers and Fruit Trees can be combined no problem, except for the Tollkeepers.

Does anyone have a suggestion about how to use these tiles? There are no peasants or anythign in C1 tiles.

General / Preserving tiles with glue?
« on: September 02, 2020, 10:04:14 PM »
I am scared of my rare old artwork C1 collection starting to show some wear. What is a good method to protect the tiles from use? Is it a bad idea to use a mild glue solution to protect them, similar to the spray used on puzzles?

General / Using the C2 Circus with C1 Catapult tiles
« on: September 02, 2020, 08:12:31 AM »
So I got all expansions on both C1 and C2, amd C1 is by far my favorite version, so much that I dont want to use any C2 tiles in my games.

The Catapult, however, is as terrible as they say. I looked for fan-made rules but none of them were exactly fun in my opinion. There's also C2 Under the Big Top, and I thought about using the Circus rules on the Catapult tiles instead and it worked pretty well! I think Under the Big Top was intended to be C2's catapult after its failure anyway. The theme (jesters, circus) is very similar.

Has anyone done this? Also what's your opinion about Under the Big Top? Personally I like the Circus. They can give a lot of points and you can prevent other players from scoring any points if you complete their features around the circus before it goes.

The Ringmaster is a little useless I think, especially in games with a lot of expansions used. Not many Circus and Acrobat tiles will come out often, and he cant score too many extra points. Just another meeple.

The Acrobats are definitely the worst. You have to commit 1 to 3 meeples, leave them in there for a while and THEN forfeit placing a meeple one more turn to score the pyramid, for only 5 points per meeple. They require you to invest so much on them for only a few points. The worst part? If other players put tiles around it quickly, they can be trapped for the rest of the game on an incomplete pyramid. Not gonna miss these tiles when playing C1 games.

Official Rules / The Plague questions.
« on: August 30, 2020, 04:10:59 PM »
1- The printed English rules I have say that in every turn, each player *must* move or place a flea chip. But all other translations I've seen say that each player *may* move or place a flea chip. So, is it optional or mandatory to move them?

2- If the highest plague outbreak tile is isolated from the rest of the board, connected only by an inactive outbreak tile, what happens? The rules say that fleas can never be placed on outbreak tiles. The only adjacent tile to the outreak tile is a tile where no fleas can be placed.

3- If there is only one active plague region, and all 18 fleas are active, it says that you must take one of the active fleas and place it elsewhere. Can you take one flea chip from the middle that would disconnect all others from the outbreak tile? Do all of them become inactive? Or, can you only move fleas in a way that all of them remain connected to the outbreak tile?

4- In what phase of a turn must the fleas be moved? At the beginning or any time?

5- Can the game have 3 or more active regions at the same time, if there are fleas in the supply still?

6- Does the fairy protect from the fleas?

The Marketplace / WTB Old edition River I
« on: August 13, 2020, 03:26:51 PM »
I have River II and III, want to get River I too because being a completionist is bad for one's health.

I'm in Mexico. Just want the river tiles, not any game or expansion it is contained in.

Official Rules / Phantom in the iOS app rules.
« on: August 11, 2020, 11:08:58 PM »
So I've read in the "official" expanded rules that the Phantom meeple can be used after any "move wood" action is taken. This includes using the phantom after placing pieces such as the builder, the fairy, using a meeple on a tower, etc.

Is this really the official rule? In practice this sounds VERY overpowered.

The way I understand, the Carcassonne meeples are divided in 2 groups:

1) Meeples that can be placed on features, even if they have restrictions. Regular Meeples, Big Meeple, Abbot, Mayor, Cart, Farm, Pig, Sheepherd and Ringmaster.

2) Meeples/Figures that can only be placed/moved *IF* a regular meeple was not placed during this turn. Builder, Fairy, Tower Meeples, Wheel of Fortune Meeples and scoring an incomplete Abbot can only be done if no regular meeple is placed.

In the iOS Carcassonne app, the Phantom could only be placed after option 1).

If you wanted to place a builder, move the fairy or score an abbot, you were not allowed to use the phantom in that turn too. This is how I've always played it too and it makes sense. It doesn't sound very fair to let a player take the fairy AND place the phantom on a feature in the same turn.

Also Magic Portals could only let you use 1 meeple in that turn. No phantom.
