Hello all.

It's been years since I last did any running, but my wife recently spotted a charity event called the Reading Rainbow Run which truly captured our hearts. So we immediately signed ourselves up to it, along with our 4 year-old daughter...

The event is a 3km (just under 2 miles) charity fun run around a nearby park. The idea is that everyone wears white clothes as the run takes you through a number of stations where marshals splash coloured paint onto you. Hence that it's a "rainbow run" as you're supposed to end up looking like a rainbow at the end of it. I'm already looking forward to seeing the results, and will certainly post photos here if anyone's interested!

I'm sure it will be!

10 years ago I would have run 3km in about 11 minutes but something tells me I'm going to be a bit slower this time, especially if I end up carrying my daughter for half of it!

We did the Rainbow Run today and it was great!

So proud of my daughter, she was awesome and kept going under her own steam all the way (not bad for a 4 y/o):

(I got off lightly compared to most when it came to the "colouring")

Thanks to those who sponsored me. We raised about £108 in total for a great cause!
