Well Johnny, when two people really love each other and they also love board games... ) This was what the guests signed instead of a book or a photo at a wedding with pictures posted on the BGG page on FB. It's just about the coolest thing and looks kind of familiar.

I've been checking out some of the new expansions and have been unsuccessful in opening any files that are not pdf's. Is this a problem with my computer or perhaps with the files themselves?

I am not interested in making the investment in all the new art or Carcassonne. I guess, at least to me, it really becomes more of a collection than a game at that point, and while I certainly enjoy collecting games and their promos, my main purpose in doing so is to play them.
I'm weird because while I'm a completionist, there are a few expansions I know I don't need. Mostly, these are the repeats (I'm looking at you Windroses II). They aren't necessary. I have the Siege expansion, so I don't need the Kathers (though it would be nice to have), but I did get Die Belagerer because there are unique tiles in it. I also don't need things that are terribly gimmicky. I did buy Klosters and Kloosters, but I don't feel the need to buy German Cathedrals.
Here's the point. Convince me why I should or shouldn't get the following expansions: German Cathedrals Darmstadt Russian tiles
What I know I want/need: Corn Circles I La Porxada Labyrinth

Does anyone have an extra La Porxada laying around? I'd like to have one, but I don't have good enough quality equipment to make one for myself.

I found a guy on BGG selling meeple lapel pins. He was looking for one like it and when he didn't find it, he had a bunch of them made. He is selling them for $10 if you're interested. You can see them at this BGG link and send him a geek mail if you want to buy one/some. https://boardgamegeek.com/geeklist/203838/item/4402631#item4402631

After just three plays of this game, I made a savvy trade (got a great deal) for this game. It is great fun. It pushes some of the same buttons as Carcassonne with laying tiles to build a castle, only the tiles are all different shapes and spread out in disjointed directions, not at all in neat rows and columns like Carcassone, or like Suburbia, it's predecessor. It was designed by Ted Alspach, the same designer as Suburbia and a bunch of other games. I really like it. The expansion is good too. Check it out if you get the chance.

Check out the annual Rummage Sale on BGG. It's basically a bunch of free stuff being given away. One in particular I thought would garner some interest here. Have a look and then see the rest of the list. All item giveaways are free to enter with a thumb, though some have additional qualifiers. https://boardgamegeek.com/geeklist/200199/item/4338738#item4338738

Just recently picked this up as it was on sale for half price ($20 US) on Amazon. Being a BGG top 10 game, I couldn't pass it up at that price. I've played it a couple times and like it pretty well. Looking forward to a few more plays to really get the feel of it. Anyone else play it

I like to look at BGG auctions. I thought I'd start a thread posting all the Carc stuff I find there. Here is the first one. Three items: Abby & Mayor, Bridges, Castles & Bazaars, and Cult, Siege & Creativity. Auction ends Nov. 9. HERE

I guess it's an Alien themed day! I recently played Alien Frontiers and really enjoyed it. I've been hot on it's trail ever since. Yesterday I received a lovely package in the mail containing the entire set, even including the pink and grey European promo player pieces (dice, colony markers, and scoring rockets). I'm very pleased and can't wait to play it. I just hope it finds the table! If you've never played it, it's a worker placement game where the workers are dice. If you've ever played Euphoria (though you're probably more likely to have played AF), it has many similarities. I prefer a medieval/fantasy theme to space, but it works really well. Several people have said I should try Kingsburg and I hope to do try that soon as well. The expansions seem to be very well done and I think I'd probably consider the Factions expansion a necessary one. I've yet to try The Outer Belt. Who else enjoys this game?
