This was a difficult game of trapping and outmanoeuvring. I tied the main farm on the very last tile which was important for my points difference but it wasn't enough to overtake Jacobo, who played a very good game and led most of the way.

The was a very sleepy game between Paul and me.  I was in the lead most of the way and then paul did well to block a couple of my farmers to stop me joining the main farm but i managed to strike lucky and get the crfr tile  needed.

One last game for me aand its with the champion!

I've been tracking the results on this post. Oh, and also here.

It looks like there's only going to be one person in the Danger Zone at the end of the round, although Decar and MrNumbers are escaping it by the skin of their teeth if we go by the first two scoring models (no maximum LP reduction). I'll do a proper analysis once the final game has been played though.

A close match that Paul deserved to win. He fought well for the large city and led it 3-2 and 4-3 but in the end it was tied. He also led the main farm for most of the game but I managed to tie it and then go ahead with my last tile only for Paul to tie it back with his last tile.

Hi all, and congratulations on reaching the end of another successful round. That’s 32 games we’ve played in 4 weeks now, scoring 6281 points in the process! Without further ado, here are the current standings:



(Game History and Current Position are included purely out of interest and can be ignored)

I’ve been tracking the results so far in an increasingly intricate spreadsheet, and have had a lot of fun modelling how scores would be affected based on certain sequences of events (please don’t underestimate how long I’ve spent fiddling with this!) What’s become clear to me is that adjusting LP at the end of the round as opposed to the end of each game leads to a much fairer competition. I also feel that losing LP is penalty enough for losing a game, and that artificially hindering players further by reducing the maximum LP that they can achieve goes against the spirit of the competition.

For the reasons above, I propose using LP2 as our official scoring method in the chart above. This means that we have one player in the Danger Zone and two players just 2 points away from it! Since eliminations come in pairs, this also means that everyone remains standing for another fortnight...

With this in mind, here are the fixtures for the next round:

The game seemed to be over so quickly! Both of us made some pretty daft mistakes, but my best was trapping 2 of my own meeples so that I could score a 4-point city. Doh! Still, not a loss that jungleboy will be losing too much sleep over for a devastating -1 LP...

I'm not able to play Jéré before he leaves for a business trip this weekend.

We should be able to play early in the week after (24th/25th) - is it ok for this round to be extended a few extra days, so we can play our match?
