I also got the orange, purple and black mini-meeples as part of the order, to give me six sets. They only had 2 yellow available, otherwise I'd have probably got the standard five colours.

I got hold of some mini meeples from BG Extras, and based on the images used for them on the site, they're the ones from Meeplesource. I got a few colours, but here are three of them, side-by-side, with standard game meeples. Although I knew their dimensions (12mm tall, 12mm wide, and 7mm thick), they still seem smaller than I expected. And the blue is much closer to the original than the image on the site, where they look much lighter.

And meeplesource have regular mini meeples too - lots of colours ... but from images don't look as though they always match the standard colours.

Unofficial Rules / Re: City Council - Veto

I was going to say the same as meepledrone has said above about allowing two adjacent veto tiles. Each player may only have one Veto tile at a time, so that can be in their supply, or on the board with their meeple on it. As the rules state, one player may veto a placement, and the original player can counter with their own - the veto tiles are immediately discarded, so I assume it means the original player gets to place the tile in that initial location after all. The fact that tiles must be placed next to at least one "real" land tile means that situations could occur where two separate VETO tiles do end up touching.

Or this one, which was a monthly summary of new expansion ...

My interpretation is that the VETO tile is just a holding tile that could be considered an empty building site with a squatter on it. So in this case I would say that if it was surrounded on all sides by city tiles, the city would not be complete until the VETO tile was replaced by a genuine tile (CCCC). I suppose it could be used to stop, or at least delay, neighbouring features being completed by other players, although the 10 point penalty for occupying the Veto tile at the end of the game may cancel any benefits out.

When I open the original image I see it contains individual tiles that are about 530x530 pixels (plus their bleed area), but the resolution shows as 72dpi for printing. 530x530 requires 300dpi for printing at the correct size for sticking onto blank tiles, and I would change this and reserve if you just want to import into Word. Alternatively just print the PNG from a graphics package.

There are scans of both light and dark backs under Downloads/Accessories - they might do?;sa=view;down=13 for the light back.

Does anyone know if the rules for the Polish version of The Castle (Zamek) are the same as the original? I am assuming they are, but have not taken the time to look into it yet.

I included some info (but not full rules) on WICA about this version. There are a number of feature changes, such as ...
  • The square (feature that separated a road into 3 distinct roads) is now a fountain ("fontanna")
  • The fountain (feature makes roads score 2x per tile, and looks like a well) is now a stocks ("dyby")
  • The Tower has been redrawn as a pigsty ("chlew")
  • The Court is renamed as a meadow ("łąka")
  • The Market, located in a Court, has been replaced by a Shrine or Chapel ("kapliczka")
  • The 2 keep pieces have been replaced by family houses using a "gate" meeple ("dom")

Summary of the expansion or all the rules?

A page for all expansions (or maybe by letter using the Categories page), by game/spinoff, or a page for each? We could test it with one of the spin-offs that have only a handful of fan expansions available - AotC, perhaps?

Would you want to include a full set of tiles for each expansion? That perhaps leads on to having a big tile database with the ability to search by edge types, expansion name or features, as we already have for the base game and official expansions. The dataset would get pretty big, though, and maybe we have to ask if Mediawiki is the right tool.

Personally, I've shied away from discussing this in the past as I reckon it's a huge undertaking.

In this case, the question has been asked quite often in the forum - so it was logical to create a page about it ...
