Using a tablecloth or table protector allows the world to shift slightly if required … especially if there’s only room for half a tile …

And why shouldnt the Japanese have it already?  The regional publisher, Mobius Games, owns the rights for production and distribution in Japan. They did the work, they secured production at a factory, they shipped the products across Japan. They've advertised and marketed it effectively.

I'm slightly surprised, if above is correct, that each regional publisher would have to arrange for all their own printing, shipping etc. Wouldn't it make sense for a single production facility to print the tile sheets for all since they're language independent (maybe apart from a few with different backs)? Then the question is whether they (or someone else) produce and/or collate all the other components.

Another viable option would be a variation of Option C but turned -90 degrees so that the newly placed black knight is facing the contested city, thus giving black dominance if connected.

(If I understand your suggestion correctly) Since the CCCC has already been played the city would never complete, nor Green's monastery - so Black would now have two followers stranded until the end of the game, but might get a few points for this new city. Black might prefer not to place a knight on this tile.

I'd probably go with B, which still leaves options for the city and monastery to be completed - all 4 players have a reason for the tile to the upper right of the monastery being placed (CCCF or CCCR), so hopefully none of them has a vindictive streak and places a CFFF immediately right of the monastery!

For those, who want to check this situation also online. Here is file for new version of JCloisterZone 5.7.101, which finaly support also online game. You can download it from https://www.github.com/farin/JCloisterZone-Client/releases

Successfully downloaded and installed Mac version - it didn't recognise existing java installation used for JCZ4 when I tried to run it, but re-downloaded JDK and it worked fine after that. +1 merit from me for the example files for the weekly challenge as they allowed me to create a pre-selected list of tiles for something I'm working on.

I emailed ZMan a while back (when the German edition came out) to ask for the release plan for then English version.
They replied that there were unforeseen issues in production, due to the pandemic, and they are expecting to have it released by September  :o

Anyone heard anything? - it's almost the end of September

Although not free, I use Photoshop Elements, which (in my case) is at a price I'm willing to spend for all (and more of) the graphical tools I need - currently around 70 pounds sterling.

It has most of the standard Photoshop tools and effects, including gradients.

I have a CCFF (like Paul's but without pennant), CFCF with separate fields (or the version with pennant), CRRF and CCCC in progress should they be required (although the styles can be applied to other tile configs if looking to fill in gaps at the end).

Been playing around with some of the artistic effects in Photoshop ... perhaps not as "different" as some previous examples. This one uses the Stained Glass effect.

Correct. I don't have any other smaller meeples for comparison photos. I got them since I wanted to created a smaller sized (about 75% of standard) tile set (to reduce printing and mounting). I do have a shrink-wrapped Carc for 2, but not currently willing to open it up.

Attached are images of all the MS minis with a standard game meeple, and another showing the thickness - my standard blue meeple is not very well cut ...

Looks as though automatic thumbnail creation is working again ... has someone fixed it, or maybe from the last upgrade?

Sorry, probably can't help.

I usually only have 2-player games, and we always use blue and red. I don't have regular orange/purple meeples so can't comment on how compatible they are. I only got the minis in that colour as yellow wasn't available at the time. I can upload a picture with all the colours when it's not dark outside ...
