Title: Unable to play Carcassonne online
Post by: Raymundo46 on November 29, 2014, 12:19:12 PM
Hello everyone,

First of all thank you for this awesome game :).

I've got a problem when trying to connect to the IP of another person. I get an connection failed (connection time out: connect) message and when this person tries to connect to me it says connection refused. I tried playing around with my firewall but so far this hasn't changed anything. When pinging our IP's we both send and receive. Does anyone have an idea how to solve this issue?

If you have a router you might have to adjust the settings on that to accept connections on port 37447 from the IP adress you want to let connect.

Hello and welcome to the forums!

If you are able to ping each other, I assume you are in one local network. So the only reason can be Windows Firewall (or third party firewall), and you must check both PCs. You should either open corresponding port or allow JCloisterZone all network activities.

Thank you both for your replies. I don't have a lot experience with changing router settings unfortunately. We're not in 1 local network btw. In my firewall I can't change any settings for JCloisterzone, other than allowing access when I started the game for the first time. I can change things for Java in the firewall, but this is already allowed to have access. Should I allow access to the default port for JCloisterzone in the firewall??
