Extracting the 7z wasn't a problem as such, it was just a bit expected when I was already in a hurry (with someone waiting to play me) and everything that could go wrong was! I downloaded 7-Zip in the end and used that to extract it, but was a bit frustrated that Windows couldn't do it natively.
