big box 4 price
« on: March 22, 2013, 03:37:57 PM »
Hello,

just in case someone is interested in this to know - the price for the german big box 4 dropped to 15,- EUR at a (country wide) supermarket (don't know if its allowed to post its name here - so name by pm). The best price i saw before was 22,- EUR which is meanwhile a common price here (looks like big box 4 is indeed not that successfull).

greetings

I think perhaps the concept of a "Big Box" is starting to lose appeal. It seemed a strange marketing tactic to me from the beginning. The more you already have what's in the Big Box, the less likely you will be to purchase it. They're really only good for people just getting into the game, and as the market becomes more saturated, the number of new players drops.

Thanks Purity for the information.
I think I will go today to that supermaket and look if they have the BigBox 4 in my town for that price yet.
I need new tiles for the fan-expansions.

I think that market need place for the summer collection and outdoor activities.

I grabbed Carcassonne on ipad back in Dcember, and shortly after purchased a physical copy of Big Box 3. The US retailer selling BB3 sold through 15 or so in less than a week. I think that more than anything, the expansions available in BB3 are better than the offerings in BB4, which attributes to the lower sales numbers.  (As a side note, just about everyone on BGG agreed, indicating that BB3 was by far the better package...which is why I tracked one down.)

BigBox 4:
That supermarket I know - the price is the same as the months before  - almost 30 Euro.
Nothing changed here in my town...
