Another crazy find on Etsy - 3D tiles? Looks cool (color scheme is ugly) reminds me of the Lego design from back in the day. Still not drawing these out of a bag so maybe just a novelty display

I don't really like seeing all these unlicensed products popping up.

Take those 3d tiles, I bet you can feel just what tile you need in the bag!

Okay that looks like a fun Lego build Meepledrone! Doesn’t look like that one made it to production though?

I hear you Decar (and yeah 3D tiles wouldn’t even function!). When I was running the Shoppe with license, I tried my best to round up all the cool but unlicensed stuff out at the time and was working with the creators and HiG using my license. The closest one I got was the wooden tiles you might remember from back in the day - I commissioned him to design the bottoms with the C vines as all he had were the faces, but that production idea died and I don’t recall if either the creator or HiG got back to me.... but I was left with this prototype. Think he started selling the SVG files to cut yourself now, but oh wells.

It’s a funny version. I have one copy and the games are a bit strange... I have to buy lego people instead wooden meeples because meeples doesn’t work very well on these tiles. And I will make a box for it with lego pieces. For the games I use a tower with normal tiles and when a player takes one then he should take the same 3D tile of supply.

I was wondering if someone on here picked it up! DrMeeple, so does it take awhile when pulling a tile to locate its 3D “match” to put on the table? I felt like it may take me out of the game, but was curious.

The wooden tiles I hate to say it have never been played lol. They are beautiful though! I was hoping to get it licensed when I got the prototype but that day never came. Did you get them after he designed the C vines on the back or no? I also agree, Catan did their 15yr (I think it was 15) right with the wooden set. I think their 20yr was the 3D tiles, but that’s a game where it feels like it works.

This Lego Ideas project was never selected for evaluation. I just love its simplicity.

There are other proposals around that explore the 3D side of things, like the following one, but IMHO I find them very distracting visually speaking:
