Stumbled across this on Etsy and found it reminiscent of the failed Kickstarter someone tried getting funded with the same idea - anyone here happen to use these yet?

Great to hear from you Carcatronn.

Grabbed a few of these last year.  My (then) 1-year old loved these.  He puts the giant meeple into this bag of wooden shapes.

Not much going on in the world of Carc, other than the 20th Anniversary edition coming out around May.

Most other things are still on hiatus here until the pandemic clears.

It’s good to be heard! Thanks Decar - hope you are well!

Have you played a round with these Big Meeple? I’d love to see them in action with the coaster tiles  O0

I want to want Carc20, but the images I have seen I’m a bit disappointed. Even Catan did crazy amazing editions for 15yr and 20yr.

So far, Winter Edition River has caught my eye. Hoping this becomes available outside of Mueller soon!

News and Events / Cundco - Big Meeple Set for coasters!
« on: February 09, 2021, 04:10:34 PM »
I just happen to be perusing Cundco and stumbled on these nice Big Meeples sized for Carc Coasters!

https://cundco.de/zubehoer/333/carcassonne-big-meeple-set

I did the math and they check out about right for the coasters from the Kickstarter!

Coasters are 1.975555555555556 times bigger than the regular tiles

Regular meeple: 16mm wide x 15.98mm tall x 9.94mm thick

Converting the Meeple size from the coaster size increase:

31.60888888888889mm wide x 31.56937777777778mm tall x 19.63702222222222mm thick

Big Meeple set from Germany:

35 x 35 x 14 mm

Couldn’t find anything out there on the forum about these, so thought I would share in case people were looking for a set to pair with the coaster packs.

Also, I still have a few more Carc coaster packs left in the closet - PM if interested! Not to mention the 15,000 random assortment of Carc coasters in the garage - can’t find a home for these and it feels wrong to toss... Anyone know of nerd bars who are still open, or if anyone wants random coasters not part of a set?

It’s been awhile - hope everyone here old and new have been good! I am so far behind on my Carc collection, but seeing missing Spiel tiles in the box just bugs me haha. The new Carcassonne Winter River looks super nice (I remember pitching that to Moritz during the Kickstarter, glad to see it finally has been produced!).

Woow! I love it!! How did you put the tiles on the wall? is it irreversible?  :D

We used stick putty called Blue Stick which actually worked quite well! Only applied a small bit to two corners on the backs.  Totally irreversible, but in case they worked too good I made sure I did this in the garage haha. So far none have fallen off and when removing one it did take a little to pull away after pressing them.

Awesome project, man! How did you stick meeples on things while playing the game?
Or did you play on the floor, then stick the board up on the wall after?

We applied just a dab of stick putty to the wooden meeple and pressed them gently against the coasters on the wall - they worked perfectly! Added/removed dozens of times to different features as normal without issue!  Have to say, our thumbs were sore And raw from pressing So many coasters against the wall though haha.

MeepleDrone - once it’s ready we may post on YouTube  ;D. We thought about leaving it alone to preserve the game, but we will see. If I get more stick putty I may get an itch to press more  O0

If you’re interested, I do have spare 72 tile sets still, or random sleeves of tiles like we did here. Just let me know  :yellow-meeple:

I can’t say much about HobbyWorld or their Russian partners, but HiG means business when it comes to Carcassonne. Although it takes a bit of time, their legal team does take action. Working with them while I was running Carcassonne Shoppe, my contract was no joke. I also recall them wanting to draft up legal documents for posting fan expansions on the official site if memory serves me right.

Digging up the Carcassonne Coasters this past weekend made me think about repitching the idea of expansion coasters like River and Winter like originally planned (and what beautiful art these could make!) but having to go through the legal process and approvals was not easy the first time.  But people need to know it’s the right thing to do when it comes to someone else’s intellectual property. That, and if you do stuff like knockoffs, know that they will always have more money for lawyers than you do so make sure to listen to cease and desist orders.  :P

Thanks Meepledrone! We were debating to preserve the game and fill in the gaps with the “C” side of more coasters, maybe alternate with starter “C” and regular “C”....but making as many features fit as possible also may look better for the mural.

We made a time-lapse video of this which looks pretty cool, but not sure how to post a video. Maybe DanIsThirty can share my FB post later  8)

Also, have no fear DrMeeple! I have THOUSANDS of coasters left if you need to make some wall art of your own  O0

It's been awhile since I've been on here! A lot of new screen names I don't recognize, which means this community is still thriving!  :black1-meeple: :blue-meeple: :green-meeple: :red-meeple:

Yesterday we painted our garage and decided to use some left over Carcassonne Coasters and use them to make a mural. (i still have THOUSANDS in bins) Naturally, we played a game of Carcassonne while we did this so thought I would share it here  8)

Yellow 550 > Red 532 - such a close game for being so massive! Since we had so many random coasters in the bin, we decided the "end of the game" would be when we ran out of wall putty instead of running out of tiles haha.  Worked out rather nicely.

Are these maps worth it?  Wish there was a shop in the USA that sold Carcassonne paraphernalia still  ;)

I love seeing everyone's Carcassonne Coaster photos getting posted! Was able to get a game of Adults of Carcassonne to the table last night - it was so fun getting to play this again finally!  8) My favorite play was deploying the shot glasses upside down to signify the farmers  :red-meeple:

Hey guys! Wow - a lot of comments on this - you guys are amazing  8)
I am buried in emails, but since I don’t know everyone’s real name with CC username, not sure if I’ve already talked to you all yet! If you’re interested and haven’t bundled up with folks, please be sure to email to reserve items!

But actually something is not clear, the actual 72 tiles are made of what ? This rubber type material for the scoretrack ? Or the standard Cork-carton type ?

If it is the later, it means a random spillage will eventually kill the tile or maybe I am mistaken ?

I think they're made of card like a typical beer mat in a pub. So you'll want to be as careful with these as you would your regular Carcassonne tiles.

Just to clarify - these are not the standard coasters as you get from a pub. Pubs usually have Light Weight pulp board coasters (approx 40pt) where these are two sizes thicker (2mm thick) and stronger (Heavy Weight pulp board coasters - (approx 80pt))

Meaning, they can take a lot of abuse! One of the Kickstarter updates from the project shows the test results with whiskey damage, coffee ring stains, and water - results were very favorable!

This sounds intriguing! Hopefully I won't have to resort to eBay for this too ::)

This is my tile-painting - a gift from kettlefish.

Thank you, kettlefish, once again for such beautiful gift!

And, for the record, Carcatronn, it is not for sale :D

Haha looks like I'm going to have to convince kettlefish somehow!  >:D Simply amazing
