Welcome to the group stage of the 2015 World Cup of Carcassonne Central! This thread is primarily for members of Group E to arrange matches between themselves and post scores, screenshots and the obligatory smack-talk as the group progresses. The top 2 players from this group once everyone in the group has played all 4 of their matches will advance through to the knockout stage.

Good luck everyone! We are all in the same time zone so hopefully we can finish our group fairly quickly (and maybe even win the prize for finishing first!).
Today, I am available from now until about 19:00, and then again from about 21:00-23:00.

I will introduce Grabushka to JCZ tonight or tomorrow. She has never used it. Give her a day or 2 then she will be ready. Please note that she does not have an account here so email her to arrange a game. PM to me would also work.

Due to an apparent "bug" with the way River 1 is implemented within JCloisterZone, please avoid using this expansion in your game. At this stage of the competition we will now be using Inns & Cathedrals and King & Robber Baron only.

To be honest I'm a bit confused.Inside Jcloister there is a link to the official server (play.jcloisterzone.com).
Is this your laptop otherwise i could setup a game there or?

Hi Michael,
The "Play Online" button will allow you to play using JCloisterZone's own online server, but this hasn't always been 100% reliable in the past so it's usually better to let someone else host directly (either you, your opponent or a third person).
If you click "Connect" you will be prompted for a Host and a Port. I will send you these by PM (private message) and these will allow you to connect to my laptop...
Hope this all makes sense.

I can also host games, but have never done so without participating in the game myself. If it's just a matter of running JCloisterZone and providing the other contestants with my IP and the port number we should be fine ^-^

No worries, you can't always get the colour you want in a tournament like this. You outplayed me fair and square so the colour didn't have anything to do with it. I was hoping for some MrNumbers mojo by choosing red but it didn't work.

I missed first 2/3 of the game because I was putting baby to sleep but the last part was very exciting to watch!
It was very close game... I think the turning point was, towards the end of the game, when GLH510 finished a 6-point road to "steal" the baron tile from Grab...

Oh yes it was quite close. Hoped the whole game to complete the huge city, but only lost tiles and meeples there ...

Amazing game between me and Ailurus, which ended with me winning by one point, 237-236. It was very close all game and the result was in doubt until the very last tile. Thanks for the great game!

Terrific game! The big cathedral city was worth 75pts in the end (for the both of us). Really enjoyed it, of course slightly disappointed with the eventual score, but definitely one of my favourite matches on JCloisterZone. Cheers!

Since you appear to be on a mission to be the first group to finish (good for you! :(y)) - I thought you should know that Joansinmiedo is planning on being in the chat room at 8pm this evening Spanish time. This was much closer than the score indicates, as we were fighting for a large farm and joansinmiedo could have won it with the last tile. But the tile was a RRRR instead of a straight road or corner road or t-road.

Just finished my match with Grabushka. With some luck I completed my cathedral city and near the end I got the only remaining FCCC tile. However, Grabushka managed to take over the Robber Baron near the end of the game. Also some little battles for the fields :gray-meeple:. Thanks for the game!

Very close and nerve-wracking game! Grabushka led for the second half of the game but I managed to get one extra farmer onto the main farm and she didn't get the tile she needed to tie it back up again.
I have now finished my 4 group games :)

Thanks for the game Juan. Good blocking of my large meeple so early on :gray-meeple:. I could've used some better tiles though, the only "lucky" one was the RRRF to complete my road... Oh well, it was already clear I wouldn't go on to the next round! Best of luck to the two members who will, most probably GLH510 and Jungleboy?
