Thanks Kettle :)). At least three tiles and positions could be deduced from the previous guesses. My choice for the remaining tile was rather silly as it had been used before and marked :red-meeple:. No more late-night Carcassonne Masterminding!

Nice meeples Franks! I like the finish of the second one on the left in the bottom picture.

As requested by Kettle, the Dutch rules for the Carc v2.0 demo.

Amazing game between me and Ailurus, which ended with me winning by one point, 237-236. It was very close all game and the result was in doubt until the very last tile. Thanks for the great game!

Terrific game! The big cathedral city was worth 75pts in the end (for the both of us). Really enjoyed it, of course slightly disappointed with the eventual score, but definitely one of my favourite matches on JCloisterZone. Cheers!

Is there somebody in our group who could setup a server for the games? I've never tried to setup a server.

I can also host games, but have never done so without participating in the game myself. If it's just a matter of running JCloisterZone and providing the other contestants with my IP and the port number we should be fine ^-^

Would it be at all possible for you to type out the Dutch Sheriff rules or a photo of that section from the rules? It would be greatly appreciated.

Sure, I've attached them :gray-meeple:.

And finally, what goodies are in the surprise box? I heard there's also a catan expansion?

Quite a few things! See below.

We are all in the same time zone so hopefully we can finish our group fairly quickly (and maybe even win the prize for finishing first!).

Good point ^-^. I should be available from Thursday evening onward.

Ailurus: if you want to come to our house in Noord Brabant to play with the real game. You are welcome!

That's very kind, much appreciated :gray-meeple:. Could you PM me the city? It's probably a bit too far from Groningen, but who knows!

Received the German Castles today. Cheers Dan! :gray-meeple:

This afternoon I also bought the Dutch version of Gold Rush (no postman involved :))), it actually comes with the mini-expansion the sheriff!

The publisher of the Dutch versions of Carcassonne (999 Games) celebrates its 25th anniversary this year, as of last weekend everyone who buys one of their games receives a gift box with a couple of nice small games and demo games — including the Carc v2.0 demo! Very nice surprise.

Finally, just because I was taking some pictures anyway, I thought of combining some tiles from the original Carcassonne (Hills & Sheep to be exact) and those from Gold Rush. There's a slight difference in the colour of the fields (nothing we haven't seen before) but it actually seems to work! Of course, it doesn't make a lot of sense to combine a medieval setting with trains and western villages... It would also be very easy to block cities/roads/mountains/railroads/a lot of other things. But it is possible :))

Those are 3 seperate roads

How peculiar. The original German rules don't mention this, and there is in my opinion no reason to doubt whether the road continues or not. An opponent in a recent game even based one of his key moves on the assumption that this is just one road. I'm curious about the origin of this statement.

[Edit]
Found it, http://www.carcassonnecentral.com/community/index.php?topic=751.msg8198#msg8198. Apparently, as usual a junction separates roads. What about the various roundabouts? They all continue as far as I know. Oh well...

Just found out that the road in this tile from Crop Circles I is considered blocked from at least one direction. That shouldn't be the case, right?

Nice game with Rich_The_Fish earlier this evening (basic game + T&B)! Rich deployed some farmers during the early stages and managed to claim the field in the end. For some reason I pretty much got every tile I needed at the right moment for most of the game. Hope I have some luck left for the remaining match in the Welcome Tournament :))
