Title: Holiday purchases
Post by: Decar on August 10, 2015, 12:13:28 PM
I'm heading to the US for 10 days next month to visit a friend.  I'll probably be buying my weight in games to save on postage.

If anyone wants anything from meeplesource or elsewhere, I'll happily shove it in my suitcase and post it when I get back.

Let me know!

I was gutted to find out I spent a week in Florida earlier this year and I was right next by MeepleSource without realizing!

Hi Decar,
did you contact the meeplesource that you will meet them in their office?

I must confess -  all these novelty Meeples leave me completely baffled - what is the point  :-\

Well, I think danisthirty is the exception.  I've ordered some bits and bobs from cardhaus and Carcassonneshoppe.  The meeplesource characters are more appealing when the postage is 1/5th of the price.

I was very pleased that I managed to get the phantoms and some extra river tiles and the wind rose from Carcassonne shoppe while it was still in business.

I don't mean to criticize what others buy, sometime I post just to try to keep the conversation moving along  - the forum doesn't seem quite to active as it was towards the end of last year when the posts seemed to fly back and forth every few minutes.

You could say that about a lot of things. The ordinary plain meeples are fine in the variety of colours they come in, but I enjoy playing with character meeples every now and again just for the fun of it really. I can imagine it being very easy for a non-gamer to be equally baffled as to why we play games like Carcassonne at all, and my answer to that person would be the same: for fun!

You're very welcome to criticize if you like, I'm big enough now to realise that not everyone has the same tastes as I do (fortunately for the world) and I certainly don't take it personally. With regards to the levels of forum activity, things are only going to get busier now what with the World Cup, Essen and then Christmas so hopefully there will be plenty of interesting discussions taking place too!
