Title: Bridges, Castles & Bazaars - Clarification
Post by: Teapotcosy on March 30, 2016, 07:27:19 AM
The very last paragraph on the rules for BC&B "At the end of the game, a Castle is worth 4 points (instead of 3) when calculating the value of a field."

If the castle were not there it would be a completed city (4 points) and as a castle has to be supplied I would still count 4 points (for the castle only). I am confused by the comment "(Instead of 3)" I cant see anything in these rules that imply a castle should be scored as 3 nor any in the base system (no castles anyway).

Is this referring to a scoring mechanic in one of the other expansions?

A farmer counts each city as 3 points but for a Castle in this field it's worth 4 points. So this has nothing to do with the city value for the meeple on the Castle itself.

Hope this helps!

It appears that I have an old version of the base rules that scores 4 per completed city for the biggest supplier (in meeples) . I note there has been a scoring refocus from 4 per complete city to max supplier to 3 per complete city supplied which accounts for the reduction. I will amend my base rules.

many thanks
