3rd game. No comment  :o :o :o

Jma03  :yellow-meeple: 157
Valheru  :green-meeple: 40

Outplayed in every sense of the word. Jma03 got all the tiles, played them perfectly, captured all my meeples.. No chance. The score says it all. And the screenshot as well...

Seriously bummed out.. Good luck in the remaining matches jma03 but I doubt you'll need it ;)

V. out and in the ropes for now.

It was a great game for me. twice I got the correct tile, to close two castles.

valheruu have two victories , so I encourage that the best is still to come tournament.
When you lose, do not look at what you lost, but what's left to win ..

With just 3 games to go, it was still technically possible for Group B to have been won by a player with just 2 wins (although this required everyone finishing with 2 wins). I have finished 2nd in my group with 2 wins, so the dream is still alive for you Valheru!

I'm back from my holidays, therefore back to my normal timezone (Netherlands).

I will play against jma03 tomorrow evening at 19:00 and against rfielder on Saturday at 2pm (Eastern Time, 20:00 in the Netherlands).

Another disaster for me  ;D (Better laugh about it than cry)

Again, not sure what went wrong. Played a nearly perfect game. Trapped his meeples and made good use of my tower pieces to capture his other guys, so much that I forced jma03 to pay the ransom... 3 times!  :o

Then I ran out of tower pieces... perhaps too early. Was that my mistake? Possibly... but the main thing is that I have won the fight for the main field but in the end, due to a combination of factors, which include luck but also clever meeple placements by jma03, smaller fields in the north became more valuable. I lost the game there, in my opinion.

Score:
jma03  :green-meeple:   104    Jéré  :yellow-meeple:  91

Jere has drawn the game to perfection .
He made a brilliant approach , hoping to capture my meeples , placing his men in a safe and get the main estate .

at first I had a slight advantage in terms of points but then I saw as my options were running out.

the last 12 tiles were as falls from the sky and good use of them gave me a game I did not expect.

I think this is one of the most complicated games with fewer options to win I've ever had
well played Jere¡¡¡¡¡  :(y)

First of all, I've noticed the field tips are still on. Stupid mistake when taking the screenshot and closing the client afterwards. I was counting the points on the unclaimed fields. Apologies for the inconvenience/seemingly breaking one of the game principles.

Last game in the first groupstage! Most exciting game I've played in a very, very long time!

RFielder  :blue-meeple: 104
Valheru  :green-meeple: 115

Clinched it with the last tile!

Although we both didn't use all our tower pieces in the end, the towerbases proved vital because of the constant threat they posed. The top farm on the right was claimed, removed, reclaimed and again removed from my grasp. I was fortunate in the end that Robert couldn't take it with his last two tiles. He was ahead with about 6 points until the last tile, but more on that later!

The attached pictures shows a lot of long roads, even a few finished cloisters and mostly large unfinished cities. The one in the center left would prove vital. It often happened that the drawn tile wasn't useful for anything at the particular moment and placed far away without any effect to the game. Small, quick points were scored while trying to ignore the tower bases. Robert captured a few of my meeples and I tried to capture one of his in the next turn. At the end, I was two or three down but looking at the board, having more meeples didn't seem that necessary.

Now, the last turns.. While Robert tried to claim the field on the right (12 points, guaranteeing him the game), I managed to sneak 2 towerpieces on the large unfinished city in the middle and capture the meeple that gave him the advantage. The last turn proved vital to tie it for 17 points each and win the game.

So I finished second in the group with 6 out of 8 points, JMA beating me on point difference (thoroughly deserved after my trashing by him). Hope I can claim 5th place.

Thanks for the game, Robert!

Thanks for the x-score kettlefish, it's good to see the our final finished group scores, although I was disappointed to lose my last game - the tiles seemed against me, so it just wasn't my night. Bring on the next round...
