Kids/My First Carcassonne

This just arrived and I played a few games with my kids.  It's a little simpler than I anticipated having not seen the rules before.  It's good for my 5-year-old, but a little beneath my 7-year-old I think.  I did start him on regular Carcassonne a bit recently, but that's still a little much for him.

My lone complaint is the box insert.  It's identical to that from the base game which makes no sense to me.  I suppose it works fine, but the tiles are too tall to sit in the box stacked on their sides and it just seems completely inappropriate for the game pieces.  I guess they just didn't feel like designing an new insert?
