Spielbox expansions are not included in the license agreement, so we won't be seeing CP&T.

I suspect they might be working with a quarterly release schedule, so I would revise your prediction like this:

February: I&C, T&B, P&D
Q2: Tower, A&M, CK&C
Q3: Catapult, BC&B, WoF
Q4: Winter Edition, Gingerbread Man, Minis

Anything Else / Special message from Chris Korfmann
« on: February 10, 2013, 11:21:44 PM »
Our good buddy Chris Korfmann sent me this message via BoardGameGeek exactly one month ago.

To my friends and members of our happy Carcassonne community. The new year happens to coincide with a fork in the road for me personally, while I have made several resolutions in the past few weeks, I don't necessarily think of them as New Year's resolutions. I'm trying to make myself more healthy and spend more time with my family, mostly by weening myself off the internet and into a pair of gym shorts. While it is not true that the recent techinical difficulties of the site have brought me to the decision to step down as a CC mod, I can't say that the situation doesn't make it a little easier. I would like to nominiate kettlefish to take my place as I'm sure that Marion would do a fine job in that capacity. I wish you well as you continue to explore your enjoyment of this fine pass time. May you always pull the tile you need! Blessings and happy gaming.

Chris Korfmann

The Z-Man edition won't be published until Q4 2013.

I've changed the ownership of the file to you.

Also uploaded a new set of rules templates in OpenXML format for Word 2007 and newer, which includes a template for Winter expansions too. (Only difference is the logo at the top.)

Got FTP access and quickly added two tiny features.

You should see on your browser tab that the light tile back image now shows up as the logo:

I also added an Apple touch icon, in case anybody decides to bookmark our site on their iPhone or iPad home screen:

Although I have to say, the forum is much easier to read using the Tapatalk app which I didn't know existed until yesterday:

Based on the user reviews, I bought the classic version of Tapatalk, which was a few dollars cheaper than the newer version and the classic version also works on iPad, though I think the screen is big enough on iPad to just use Safari.

I sent an e-mail to Sophie and got an auto-response that she is away from her desk indefinitely. Let's see how long "indefinitely" is.

Yes, I've been given the impression by Kalinda that some plans are kept secret until just before release. Sophie would probably know sooner in advance since she is the CEO. Do you have an e-mail address for her?

General / Keep track of your Carcassonne collection in your forum profile
« on: February 10, 2013, 04:40:40 PM »
Kettlefish suggested that it would be good to explain for newcomers to Carcassonne Central about the custom fields we've added to your forum profile. On the menu near the top of the page, if you hover your mouse over the word "Profile" and then click on "Forum Profile" in the menu that appears, you will be on the page where you can edit your profile. Scroll down a bit and you'll see a list of the Carcassonne games and expansions. If you haven't changed anything here yet, next to each game/expansion it will say "Wants". You can change these to "Owns" or "No interest", depending on your own situation. These fields appear only in your profile and they have no effect on how the forums are displayed to you. Filling them out is just for fun or your own keeping track. This is similar to the feature on BoardGameGeek, but it can be handy to keep track here also if you have a lot more board games in your collection than just Carcassonne.

When you're done making changes to your profile, make sure to scroll all the way to the bottom and click the "Change Profile" button to save.

I'm tickled to share a birthday with the new CarcassonneCentral forum!  ;D

I was going to wish you a happy birthday but you hadn't registered yet, so belated happy birthday to you, sir!

Who told you about the Tower? Alliance or Z-Man? A few days ago when Kalinda posted on the Z-Man Facebook page she didn't know which expansions were being released in Q2.

Thanks, I'll approve it when I get home. Can't access the download module from Tapatalk.

Gantry should be able to send an email to everyone on the old forum. That would also reach people that don't go there anymore.

I just added three files to the Downloads section that were never in the old downloads:
  • Carcassonne Score Keeper
  • Rules Templates (Word 2003 format)
  • Carcassonne Font Pack (Barbedour, Casque OpenFace, LindsayEF)

In the not too distant future I hope to create some OpenXML versions of the rules templates (DOCX format). I always have problems in the newer version of Word with the old templates because the way the font names are stored has been changed.
