I like your conclusion to just get the V2 specialty tiles while they are relatively easy to find and not too expensive and therefore keep your options open about whether to colllect the new art or not. Then maybe someone might get you the new art big box set for your birthday... because your profile says you want it!!!  (but you're probably not ready to buy it for yourself yet)

I don't want to skew the results as I have not seen (in real life) and played with all the wood yet, but I am most curious about the Mage and Witch! (would they help me conjure up some money to buy them and all the other wood?) Concerning 'Big Meeple' I agree, he's just not that big! My V2 Inns and Cathedrals instruction sheet calls them large and not big and says "When scoring a feature where a large meeple is present, the large meeple is worth 2 normal meeples. (It is as thick as two meeples!)" That's just not so!!! He's not that thick! And why change the name from big to large??? And I also see Danisthirty's point that without the original meeple there would be no others!

Thanks for the reply Decar! I just saw that and placed a new order which did not only contain the gingerbread man!     Just a few days ago they were sold out of the gingerbread man and a lot of other expansions. I wasn't sure how quickly they could restock or if they ever would! Are they still printing all the Carcassonne items at their store? If not where do they get their merchandise from? If so, why can't they print more crop circles and besiegeer tiles like everyone wants? (Well I've read the reasons why, but still just trying to understand more about the Cundco Store and where they get their merchandise from... like the Japanese monisteries... are there just a lot of those and the other items available still circulating around?)

you can't catch me I'm the gingerbread man .......... Looks like my gingerbread man expansion ran away! Just got an email from eBay that the order I had placed and paid for is unfortunately not available at the moment.    Has this ever happened to anybody? What do I do now? They will return the money but still no gingerbread man. Well it is Friday the 13th!

Thanks so much for all the links for Das Fest! I think the postage would be cheaper it I save up and ship myself! That would be the best Da Fest of all! In the meanwhile I'll wait for the Cundco store to stock up!

Was interested in this game for my daughter as she likes witches and wizards. Unfortunately dirk's LOL theme summary "Beer Explosion" put a hoppy taste in my mouth and I will give it a pass for now. Maybe they need an "over 21" version? Cheers! Chug, chug, chug!

My first "old art" purchase of Carcassonne is on it's way! I was able to win an eBay bid on a new Carcassonne Big Box 3 for a decent price. Cheaper than the used one that was also offered. (Sadly there are no shops near me that sell old art Carcassonne that I know of like in Europe.) Unfortunately this BB3 did not contain a river expansion, which I love. Little did I know at the time how difficult and expensive it would be to find and purchase a river! (Thanks whaleyland for explaining about the different versions!) I would think the River II would be more difficult to find and expensive than River I, right? (That's the version I want, although it'd be great to have both.) I also think The Count, King, and Robbers has the River II, so dirk2112 if you don't want that expansion let me know!  I finally checked out the Cundco store! Lots of cool stuff with reasonable prices, but no rivers, and sold out of The Count, King, and Robbers.  Any advice on where to get any of these and/or how much they should cost on eBay in $ would be great? Will the Cundco store ever get them again? Thanks for everyone's help!
