I have to say, that you use prices like an ebay seller.

Some of these items are still availble for example at CundCo for a correct price.

Dear Kettlefish,

Yes that is true indeed, thats where I gathered most of my expansions.
I added a couple of bucks to each item to make a bit out of it. If these prices
are disturbing to most forumers here it'll get clear soon and I might have to consider ending this sale I know..

Regards,

Kor

I've talked with Moritz Brunnhofer some weeks ago.

Perhaps the CundCo Shop will sell himself at ebay.
Than the publisher (HiG and CundCo) will get such bit like 80 EUR for the Cathars...

When they earn enough money, then they can publish more pieces for the world of Carcassonne...

Not sure what "garage sale" means in Europe, but here in North America the term "garage sale" means very low prices. People have a garage sale when they need to get rid of stuff more than they need the money. The fact that you have marked up your prices to make a small profit is slightly offensive, though I appreciate you admitting it.

Sorry to rant, but you are the kind of person that really bothers me with collections like Carcassonne! This forum is for people who enjoy the game and want to see others enjoy it. Stock piling rare expansions and selling them for ludicrous prices is a really frustrating thing to do and only harms real fans of the game. If I somehow acquire an extra version of a rare Carc expansion I will usually give it away for free or at cost price, which I think is true of all the forum regulars here.

I don't understand the prices for the non-rare expansions e.g. the River I is available at the Cundco shop for 4.49 euros, so why is it 40 euros here?

You and me both! Managed to find Plague recently at a reasonable cost but Cathar and Tunnel, (Tunnels of which I have been advised against unless I'm a completionist!), still elude me.  One day perhaps.

Pick me, pick me. It is the one major expansion I have not got. :D

My claim to fame is I believe I purchased the last copy of Cult, Seige and Creativity available on the Internet at normal retail price. 11 May 2012 at about US$5 equivalent. Can anyone beat that?

Yeah, the tunnel gameplay mechanic is completely busted. It's as if the expansion was released without ever being play-tested.

Instead, i made my own tunnel tiles. I found images of the tiles online and then colored the tunnels in matching pairs so that there is always an entrance and a corresponding exit. It plays much better this way.

Yeah, the tunnel gameplay mechanic is completely busted. ...

I'm curious what you think is busted about the Tunnels mechanic.

Yeah, the tunnel gameplay mechanic is completely busted. ...

I'm curious what you think is busted about the Tunnels mechanic.

What's busted is that you can place down a tunnel chip, but that you are not obliged to ever place down the second tunnel chip, at least according to the official rules.

So if somebody places down a follower on a road and then i get a tunnel tile and place it on his road and place my own tunnel chip on that tunnel, i don't ever have to place down my 2nd chip and hence, my opponent's follower is now permanently stranded on that road.

Sure, you can similarly box people in to a city that can't be completed if you aren't playing with enough expansions or with the abbey tiles, but given that this is a 4 tile expansion and you can SO EASILY strand opponent's followers almost immediately it is just plain cheap. Stranding someone in a city usually takes work, and my group plays with so many tiles that it's almost impossible.

Here's what i did with the tunnels: (You may have to scroll down the page to see the file)

http://pdfcast.org/pdf/tunnels

(The colors solely indicate the connecting paths. The colors have nothing to do with meeple colors.)

I thought you could only place your chip on a tunnel entrance where you own the road or no-one owns the road. At least that's what I have played in the past
Title: Re: WTS: Rare / non-rare Mini Expansions : Garage Sale
Post by: frankdux on August 29, 2014, 10:55:48 AM

That would certainly make more sense. Unfortunately, that's not the case. See the official rules (http://www.spielbox-magazin.de/pdf/CCS_Tunnel_en.pdf) or see page 101 of the CAR.

During his or her turn, a player may place one of his or her tunnel tokens on any currently
unclaimed tunnel opening, including on the land tile which has just been placed.
Independent of this, the rules for deploying a follower remain the same.

As it says in the footnotes, "unclaimed" refers solely to the tunnel opening, not to whether or not the road is occupied.

You will have a SPARE copy of Cathars??  :o oooh that is really lucky... :) and a bit sad too.. :(

it's so hard to find, and if they are found they are super expensive.. and then some people have SPARE copies of cathars...  :'( buhuuh!! *cries*

so you are one very lucky guy if you win it!! :) congratulations on your progress so far in the World Cup!! :)

€80 for Cathars? Damn that's a hefty price. And I always thought €25 was a lot for 4 tiles.
Good thing I grabbed a few copies a couple of years ago when they were on sale on the Spielbox site and when HiG found a few boxes with spares and sold them on cundco.de for €4 each  ;D

I grabbed a copy then too. It's sitting in a box still sealed in Arizona. It won't be coming out for a few years at least. I paid $18.50 plus shipping for my first copy when's lived in the UK, so under $10 for a second copy from Spielbox was too good to pass up.

IIRC on the Spielbox site it was limited to 2 copies per household and on Cundco.de it was 1 per household. I opened 1 of them to play with and the other 2 are still in shrink  :))

If anyone can come up with a copy of Lost Legacy (one of the Japanese editions) I might be in for a trade  ;)

Probably not. It's rather tiny compared to Essen. All big announcements happen in Essen. There might be some releases of dutch version of previously internationally released games. But nothing big. I don't expect any of the big publishers to be there either, actually.
