Hey Guys,

I have a question.
Is there any information about Le Sac?
I searched on google, but maybe not in the right place.
Where and when was it released and maybe more fun facts etc.

I hope someone can help me.

Hi!

Le Sac was given away at Essen, I believe in either 2001 or 2002.
It was after the first expansion(s) to Carcassonne were released, and people could start to notice a difference in colour on the backs of the tiles when they were stacked up (as per the rules of the base game). So to avoid people being able to see/predict the next tile, Le Sac was introduced as a way to avoid that, and randomise the drawing of the next tile.
Not sure how many of them were released, but it is one of the rarest collectors items in the world of Carcassonne today.
Later they included a bag with expansions, as the idea was well received and more and more used.

Here's a recent picture I took of my Le Sac, in comparison with the bag that came with the first Russian Promo set and the Travel edition:

Hey Willem,

Thank you again for your text and explanation.
I was able to buy one and I was curious where it was issued.
I couldn't find that anywhere.
Just that it's from the year 2002.

Oh my! Did you pay me for it?  We had house work last last year, so things have been really chaotic. I'd totally forgotten!!

It's been ages, so I forgot about it as well!
I think you got a big bunch, and I asked for a couple (will have to look up how many), but we then waited for the SpielDoch release with the new tiles, which I actually got separately as well in the end.
Not sure if I paid you, but I think it's safe to presume I haven't, as I remember you mentioned the building work, and of course mini-Decar.
If you still have them (somewhere stuffed away), let me know and we can arrange it  ;D
