Title: Hobbyworld in Russia just posted this. Does anyone know what the two tiles are
Post by: Clownfeet on August 01, 2016, 09:31:52 AM
So I know the two Russian promos. But I don't recognise the other 2 in this picture. Anyone know them?

Hobby World first gave two tiles out as prizes at the Russian Carcassonne Finals.  I suspect this will be this year's prizes.

Nice find

These tiles will be given as prizes (in fact, giveaways) on the Russian Carcassonne championship 2016.
Tiles represent Russian fairytales' heroes. Two of the tiles already known, other two are:
Upper-left: Соловей-Разбойник [Solovey-Razboynik], Nightingale the Robber (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nightingale_the_Robber)
Lower-right: Водяной [
Vodyanoy (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vodyanoy)]

All tiles have different features (rules), which will be announced later.

Thanks Mr Numbers.  That Nightingale Robber doesn't sound like he met a good end.  I like the Vodyanoy's artwork a lot.  Hopefully we'll be able to order these in a few years, like the last tiles.

@MrNumbers: You'll remember that I'm your bestest best friend ever of all time if ever you're able to use any of your Russian contacts to get hold of any of these right? O:-) :(y)

Could you not have gone yourself? You could have represented two countries if you'd won there too! 8) Might even have got to play yourself if you'd won!

Hello,

I´m running a survey on german CarcF. because I´m in contact with Alexey Babaitse from Hobby World. Probably HobbyWorld can bring back Carcassonne Games to ESSEN 2016

Well done for taking the initiative BigBoss. :(y)

Since I'm planning on driving to Essen I may be able to collect from Essen and post on behalf of those who wish to get hold of something but won't be there to get it in person.

I would definately like a set of these new tiles but please help.

I think you just go to the thread on CarcF linked to by Big Boss and state what Russian Carcassonne stuff you would be interested in paying for if Hobby World were able to bring a load to Essen.

Were the original two Russian promos released in the euro format? I.e. squared corners, 'C' on the back of the tile? Are there any plans for these tiles to be branded as such?

Same here for the two new ones.

I'm at work now so I can't see my ones to check, but do the first two Russian tiles (the versions that were contained in the white Carcassonne bag), the crossroad and legged-house, have that watermark on?

Actually, I can answer this. I had a discussion with a Hobbyworld representative last year in Essen and as far as Hobbyworld is concerned, answers to your questions are no, no and no. It is intended for the Russian market only.

Maybe another publisher is willing to reprint those for their own market but I strongly doubt this will happen.

I don't think it's going to work because only the top30 will get the tiles, not all participants.  I'm afraid the people I could ask to go there have too little experience playing the game...  ::)

Thanks for the heads up. I wouldn't mind a copy, but if they're not properly compatible with the base and other expansions I'm not too bothered. Hopefully someone will end up making some DIY stickers like the first two Russian promos.

Just to reiterate: if you wish items to be added to the survey you must put a note on CarcassoneForum and thank BigBoss.  Having done that if you want Dan to pick up items for you you'll need to let him know here afterwards once your order from Hobbyworld is confirmed.  It's likely the new spiel tiles will not be available as these are special prizes for the top russian players.

Whenever the new tiles do become available, I'd like official copies of those (and officials of the previous two), so long as they can be shipped to New Zealand for under $20USD / €15.00 / £12.00 (or something like that). I have homemade versions of the first two tiles, but nothing beats originals and with four tiles now, all with the same watermarks, that qualifies as a tuckboxable expansion in my eyes.

BigBoss, I replied on the other forum as well but just to be certain:

If possible I would like both the old and the new promo tiles. So that's Baba Yaga and Bogatir (2013) with everything else; and the 2016 ones, if they'll be available.

Thank you for your effort, BigBoss. Highly appreciated!

Unfortunately, I won't make Spiel '16, so I'll probably arrange something with Danisthirty if he's still up for it.

What Andrew said. Sorry, I've been trying to keep up with all the posts, but life has been crazy lately and I just can't keep track of everything. Without much new Carc news lately, my focus has been elsewhere.

I want the four Russia Expansion tiles, if they are available. The two old ones from 2014 or so, and the new 2016 ones. Oh, and the 2016 Bonusplättchen tile from the Hans im Glück booth. That's it I think. Maybe someday I will be able to go to Essen, but this year is definitely not the year.

SAD NEWS - NO CARCASSONNE GAMES FROM HOBBY WORLD ON SPIEL 16

Quote from: Alexey Babaitsev @Hobbyworld
I've requested our marketing department. Turns out, there may be a legal complication with bringing the requested items to Essen.
Hobby World has the license to sell Carcassonne products in ex-USSR countries. I am waiting for a final answer from our office. As soon as I have any new information I will let you know.

Perhaps you can go to Russia and win their national championships?

I have relatives in Moscow. They can send me a parcel with tiles for all the community. The only question is: will Hobbyworld sell them to a private person?

I would suggest BigBoss to do it as he already is in contact with Hobbyworld. In case of positive answer I will step in :)

Does anyone know the rules of the Russian tiles?
IIRC, the strange bird house tile scores like a reverse Cloister, where it scores 1 point per each empty space around it (and 2 for itself...?). The crossroads tile is just treated like a road. I don't know about the new tiles. I imagine the one is also just treated normally, but I too am curious to know what the new feature does.

Will anybody be printing these as tile stickers, like the first two Russian promos? Personally, I'd prefer a pair of square cornered tiles without the K backing so they can be integrated with the regular tileset.

For most of us printing them will be the only option to play them. I'll do it.

Hi,

here you can see the new tiles in a little bit higher resolution:

Is anyone able to understand and translate the corresponding text, that comes with these pictures? Are there any hints to the rules???

OK, here is the translation:

Nightingale the Robber tile
The tile is mixed with basic game tiles. If there are followers on roads that go through Nightingale tile (or on roads that are connected to that tile later in the game), players must move them onto that tile. Followers remain on that tile till the end of the game. In player's turn, instead of placing the follower ("move the wood" phase) player can return one follower from Nightingale tile into his supply.

Vodyanoy tile
The tile is mixed with basic game tiles. When a player connects this tile to some tile or tiles on the board, all followers from nearby tiles are moved onto Vodyanoy tile. If there will be any followers on nearby tiles later in the game, they also are moved onto that tile. Followers remain on that tile till the end of the game. At the end of the game during final scoring player looses 2 points for every follower that remains on Vodyanoy tile. In player's turn, instead of placing the follower ("move the wood" phase) player can return one follower from Vodyanoy tile into his supply.

Although these are cool tiles that we all want to get hold of, I'm not sure of the legal implications of hosting this download here as it isn't a fan expansion made by anyone from Carcassonne Central and we don't want to infringe on anyone's intellectual property.

I'll try to contact whoever needs to be contacted either at HiG or Hobby World to see if they're happy for us to have these tiles available in a print and stick format and will re-instate the link once we hear back from them.

Play with the tile bag from Traders and Builders so no one will see the tile back ahead of time.   The other option is to make proxy tiles when you want to play with them.  Throw in 4 Cults or 4 Flyers tiles and when you pull one of those you can pick from the Russian set.

Since almost 2 years nobody posted anything regarding those 2 new tiles and the trail went cold, I decided to try something crazy, it seems.
I already have the first 2 and they are originals, with "K" on the back. Since my group don't play with 'le sac' we can't use those with "K" on the back. I saw someone from Spain that printed all of them on the blank ones that Cundco offers and they are with "C" on the back.
I am offering those 2 originals (Hero at the Crossroads & Baba Yaga) for all 4 of the russian promos printed on tiles with "C" on the back.
If somebody is printing those and can make a good job, I even can supply him/her with any resolution scans of the first 2 tiles.

I know they're in high demand but I am willing to make the trade if the self produced are very well done. Since the price of those 2 originals is quite high, I expect the solicitor to pay the shipping for both parcels.
