This is a challenge about perfect game of 6 players which plays cooperative game in best order of tiles as possible plays Carcassonne basic game new design (possible 20th anniversary edition), all official large expansions, mini expansion, promos always in newest design if possible (Catapult, Plague, Tunnels are only in old design).
Try to create sequence of tiles and placing meeples and use game mechanics and rules. (Imagine, that you get required tile from Stack and also when some "random" issue like to roll dice, you will get required result).

What is your highest number of meeples on one tile at moment of finish of player turn?

(Placement from City of Carcassonne is not counted because at the end of turn those meeples are returned to players' supply).

Counted are all meeples from expansions (19 per player), Fairy, Mag, Witch, Dragon, Count, Big Top).

(This challenge I "borrow" from czech forum and author is LunarHexagon)

I think you made a little mistake in the topic title  ;)

How many *meeples* can be on one tile in a game.
But uuhm I've actually never had more than 3 meeples on one and the same tile (not counting the acrobats).

Thanks for correction. I was trying to create topic over Tapatalk (Mobile App), but without success, so don't check tile then when coping texts from email.

Anyway, that's the points, Imagine tile with Acrobats, 1 city, 1 road, 2 fields, with for expample Magic Portals can be occupied with multiple other meeples! Try it

When used just Basic Game & & Flying machine, then it could be oven more.
Imagine, that there are 8 flying machine tiles, so 8 meeples can be placed by this mechanizm. But you can also place first meeple on tile by tile placement. So it will be 9.

So here is some summary:
1. Regular placement of meeple when placed tile
- 1 meeple
2. When playing flying machine, ability to place there another 8 meeples by Fly machine
- 9 meeples
3. Phantom when placed tile
- 10 meeples

What alse? (there can be even more!)

If you play with the plague then any suitably large and shared feature could share a single tile as they flee from the plague. This in theory could mean all the meeple in play could share a single tile.

    • Divider cards for C1 & C2 / C3 both in French & English:
Exactly, a big shared farm (easiest to do if playing with bridges) with all meeples could do the trick  :neutral-meeple:

Yeah this is also option
Finally one of the best answers.
It's more difficult to manage it but possible, maybe. Depends if it will be possible to manage.

What is really easy to manage is to place Slávoy Razboynil tile and enlarge his road and trap all meeples on Slavoy's tree.
This can trap all meeples of players include
6x7 regular meeple, 6x1 large meeple,6x1 wagon, 6x1 ringmaster.

So it is 60 meeples on one tile.

What will be next step?

Just as Guy wrote, using plague it is possible to stuff all the meeples on a single tile, or at least almost all.
Especially useful for moving a builder, pig or shepherd.
Abbots would be a special case, as they need to be placed on the same garden or monastery using flyiers.
Count expansion can also be helpful for sending meeples into features.
Tile from the goldmines: CRRC+monastery, would also accommodate mage and witch at the same time + fairy.
So for 6 players C1+C2 game, that would be 99 meeples on a single tile.
Using big box 5 with 2 extra sets of (some) meeples would decreese the number, as all players need to have same sets of meeples, so that would exclude ringmasters, phantoms, mayors and wagons, for 91 total.

But as the first post states, only new edition, so the highest meeple count at a single tile would be 75 using count expansion for initial filling the tile (including large, mayor, wagon, ringmaster), flyer to place abbots, crop circles for all remaining meeples that were not added by city of carcassonne mechanic, and mage+witch+fairy for a good measure at the end.
Completed: Robber's Son | Gambler's Luck | Vistas Revisited | First Wells | The Flying Machines 2
WIP: The Occult Tower | Binding Deed | Wandering Preachers | City Gates Rebuilt | New King's Orders

Count expansion can not be used. Because. At end of turn those meeples are removed from game and are in players' supplies.
It can be used also C1 expansions which not has equivalent in C2.
